Honestly, Perry Ellis is silly for considering to enter the draft.

But, I'm not going to laugh or poke fun at a kid trying to reach his dream of playing in the NBA.

If the NBA is his dream, he isnt going to go any higher by coming back next year.

You really think so? He gained some toughness during that stretch last year. Showing teams his knee is good and he can play with intensity for a whole year is Important Plus developing his outside game against inferior competition would be beneficial.

He may not see it that way, but if I were a GM (I'm not and I didn't stay at holiday inn last night) I would want to see his senior year.

I hear you.

He also avoided a very significant injury this year.

That has to play some sort of factor into his decision.

We were pretty much out of it when Matt left for St. John's. Williams who would have been a huge addition for us asked to be released from his LOI last week and committed to St John today too.

With Perry, he doesn't have the same problem. He's not riding on the coattails of his recruiting ranking out of HS like Oubre, Alexander etc. It makes sense for those guys to go, to not risk their draft stock falling. With Perry, he has no where to go but up. Teams do value the 4-year veteran player that wins, can make an immediate impact. Perry has no chance at going 1st round now, if he has a good year, and KU is a Top team next year, he has a chance of sneaking into the 1st round and getting guaranteed contract. Going pro this year for Perry would be a monumental mistake.
