I'm still thinking from a total franchise perspective. When Dorsey took over we had to be the slowest team in the nfl. And that was with physical freaks Houston, Poe, and jamaal. And it's been proven bowe/avant/Hemingway guys just are t getting it done with smith. I'll take the "slow" 4.35 guy that's gonna be two yards open in 10 steps.

In all seriousness will someone bitch slap oaklandhater. He's not even making shit for arguments (scheme, tape, anything that matters) he's just in here bitching and crying like a little kid that he didn't get who the talking heads were pimping. This guy looks to be a better coachable option than strong or dgb for this offense. And he looks to play fast as f.

Had a nice argument with a Baltimore can about whether or not this kid plays faster than Perriman who ran an unofficial 4.29.

This. We need dynamic WRs that Alex can throw the ball to quickly.

Given good coaching, he could be something pretty special for us.

Gotta love some of those passes from Aaron Murray in the highlight reel too..
Amen brutha !! Milk made the analysis about the Morse pick exposing how Reid/Dorsey really feel about Kush and I agree. This pick of Conley might give a little insight of how Reid especially feels about Murray and his future throwing to Conley. Coincedence ? Maybe. But I doubt it.

Man, there's a lot of reerun in this thread.

Conley is slow now? Jesus. I feel like most of the bitching in this thread or demands for Strong over Conley are nothing more than someone having read draft guides written by idiots that have the Chiefs taking Landon Collins. If you'd do nothing but watch Conley alongside Strong, you'd have come away saying Conley is the far better player. Then when you go through their combine times, you'd have started thinking about Conley as a 2nd rounder.

Conley's raw, sure. He's also freakishly athletic and incredibly intelligent. He gets beat in press because of poor hand technique, not strength. He has the physical ability to get by DBs off the jam pretty easily and the quickness to pull away. He's actually very very smooth for a big-bodied, lengthy WR. That's a damn tough skill to find as most long WRs struggle out of their breaks. Conley really doesn't. He's not Cooper out there but he's a hell of a lot smoother/more sudden out of his cuts than DGB.

I liked him as a possible 4th rounder but I also knew that some team might fall in love with him and take him a round before that. Turns out that was us but I'm not heartbroken over that. The guy has the skills to be both the large catch-radius possession WR we need and someone that can house a bubble screen or out-jump a DB to high-point a pass. He's a natural hand-catcher so he uses that catch-radius to full effect. That's nice to see and tough to teach.

Yeah, he might be out of the league in a few years...and? He's a 3rd rounder, about 1/4 of those become starters. Yeah, the odds favor him not succeeding but that's just the nature of the draft. He has every phsyical tool imaginable and with just a little technique work he could be a really nice #2 in the future. If Wilson/DAT/Rogers can hold down the fort while Conley learns, we'll be in really nice shape possibly as early as the mid-point of this season.

I like this pick a lot.

You know who doesn't do that?

Jaelen Strong.

It would have been hilarious to draft Jaelen Strong and see the EXACT SAME haters of Bowe turn to hate Strong.

I dont understand the infatuation with Strong. Why are people so enamored with a slow footed WR that gets no separation.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the two DB's we drafted put up some of their best game film while playing Strong

Conley is really smart. He'll be attached to his buddy, Aaron Murray, from now until training camp learning the playbook, play calls, and route tree. Expect Conley to show up at training camp prepared to be an impact rookie.
