Don't forget Mitch Morse, who was a quality LT.

They're going to have to rely heavily on running the football effectively to really have any sort of offensive production, I think. Mauk was not impressive at the spring game and had the same issues.

Honestly, I'm not sure they'd be better off with him instead of Marvin Zanders. Zanders would be a dynamic running threat and is good at throwing on the run.

It's pretty impressive how much talent has rolled through Columbia in the past 2 years. And nobody even mentioned Josey.

Another crazy thing is that of the four players from Mizzou drafted in the first two rounds, two were first year starters, one was starting at a new position last season, and the other didn't play football last season.

I still feel like we're just scratching the surface of how good this program can be.

The money from the SEC (and the network) is only going to help.

Recruiting still has to get better if we want to take the next step.

Last year was pretty damned good. A connect in Florida would help, but imagine the 2015 recruiting class with Ofodile and Hentges, or the Davis twins. Still, far too much talent leaves the state.

Setting up a pipeline in Georgia has helped, and they've done really well in Tennessee, but as the Vols continue to rebuild it's going to be harder to get good players from that state. I think Florida is a hard sell, save for under-the-radar types.

That can't be true. I've read on CP numerous times that the SEC isn't nearly as lucrative as the Big 12 and the SEC network is a dismal failure.

He was the latest in a line of hometown kids who was NOT all about playing for the hometown school. Not sure why, but that's an issue in Columbia.

Seems like the stud DE recruit at Rock Bridge in the 16 class feels differently, but time will tell.

I get the fullback that went to OU whose ne escapes me, but as a WR to slip to Oregon seems weird.

I got to know chase Patton a little in dental school (he was a year ahead of me and is practicing in Como I think) so it was cool to hear some stories about the program.

however, it wasn't cool that they always won the intramural football tourney.

Chase is one of the nicest human beings I've met, and certainly was the nicest top 50 national recruit that I ever interviewed. I met him at his house for an interview before his commitment to Mizzou, and he answered the door in rubber gloves - he had decided to spend a day off cleaning around the house to help his mom out.

Man, he could spin the ball. Just a cannon. And he married up, too. Ashley Guy is, if possible, an even nicer person than Chase. And a damn good athlete in her own right.

If they have a son, he'll play football or baseball at Mizzou, pretty sure of it.

It's not just Trey-tor Millard (OU FB). It's also the DT who went to Nebraska, and Ofodile, and seemingly every decent talent out of RB (Aron White, TE, Logan Gray, QB to Georgia).

Missouri has not had much luck getting the true stars out of Columbia, MO.
