Is it really fair to judge a QB in year 3 the same way we judge a QB in year 9 or 10?

Judge what he's done however you will but by year 10, unless you think Smith is Rich Gannon or Randal Cunningham, you shouldn't be expecting anything different that what he's been doing...

You are wrong.
He didn't lead jack shit. He created the situation that they were in by his play early in the game and he also threw a pick at the goal line in the 4th quarter. On one of their scoring drives they were helped by 40 yds worth of penalties.

I've stated several times that Wilson is a good quarterback, but he isn't a great quarterback. The Seahawks are a great team that masks a lot of Wilson's deficiencies. Wilson is basically Troy Aikman. A good quarterback whose talent is over exaggerated due to the team he plays on.

Alex Smith has played at top tier level in 2/3 of his playoff games and is one of the 5 winningest quarterbacks since 2011.

Wilson has benefited from a great defense but it's not like he has a ton of offensive talent.

If anything you could compare it to the Dilfer/Baltimore situation. And that's being generous because until this offseason they didn't have a great TE either...

No, not really. Russell Wilson shouldn't be saying that he's moved on before (NC State to Wisconsin), so he's "used to it" and SI reporters shouldn't be saying that the Seahawks will soon be ready to move on without him because they don't think he's a Franchise QB.

It's one thing to have protracted negotiations but it's another to drop subtle hints that your QB is unworthy of the Franchise moniker.
