The NFL Top 100 listed both DeMarco Murray and Marshawn Lynch ahead of him. Now, in fairness, if the list is just the best players last year, Murray had a very productive year, and so did Lynch. But Jamaal was still notably ahead of both of them in yards per carry. I would presume that productivity per touch is a better sign of a player's ability than total productivity. Given a choice between the three, I would take Jamaal Charles if I'm on the playground picking teams.

Even if I were another teams fan, being the avid football fan and running back afficionado that I am... theres just no way I could look around the league and get more excited about someone other than JC.

That 5 ypc mark hasn't been done by anyone, ever... and its been done on some all time NFL bad teams... **** it, throw 40k to the strippers next time JC, whatever makes you happy baby.

The NFL Network lists are always rankings of the year ahead. The current ranking is for 2015 but the 2015 season hasn't happened yet. Obviously, the most heavily weighted criteria will be the prior year's production, which is why you see a guy like Murray ranked so highly.

The list is bullshit regardless.

The Vikings are an ascending team. They've got a capable young QB and a defense that's trending up.

If I had to bet money id predict a vintage type of season for Peterson.

Teddy is definitely an intriguing young guy, he seems to be on a fast learning curve... but it will still only be his second year.

I forget what all they were, but Zimmer did wonders for that defense last year, ditching that tired ass, reactive cover 2, they climbed in a bunch of standings... but its still his second year, probably 2/3 of that team still aren't "his guys" yet.

They're an ascending team alright, but don't expect too much.

Especially from Peterson, theres a ton of biological/physical factors at play there, not to mention the fact that he does NOT want to be there, he feels like the fans and team abandoned him at his time of greatest need... how hard is he really going to try for them?

I've never heard anything negative about his work ethic. The guy spent New Year's in the hospital recovering from surgery so he could get back to 100% health by the start of the 2012 season.

He may feel unappreciated but he's been out of the mix for an entire season and dealt with several off-the-field issues in the meantime. I'd bet he wants nothing more than to re-claim his title as best RB in the league.
