Say what you will about Carl, but he sold high on Jared Allen. Carl won that trade hands down.

It's hard not to like the direction the team has taken since he's been here. I'm hoping that in a few years we can all look back and say that he built a powerhouse.

There is no reason to believe he won't. The D is set up to be one of if not the best in the NFL. Will he get 22 sacks this year? Probably not, but I bet he'll still dominate opposing o's

Having seen the effects of chemo and radiation to family members and friends these past few years leads me to believe that it will be extremely difficult for him to resume an NFL career and play at a high level.

Someone can "look okay" physically but struggle mentally. Chemo and radiation also can affect bone density, causing them to become brittle, so running 25 miles an hour and crashing into a 230 pound human being won't likely be recommended.

It would be fantastic if he could return to the NFL but as a fan, I'm more concerned about his long term health.
