The Royals are hardly evil. But do they have a significant history of instigating situations like this (and did they instigate Sunday's incident)? Absolutely.
Sounds like the Blue Jays aren't so innocent either. You know why? Every team has had their battles. That's the point. None of this is that unusual but you'd think the Royals have murdered baseball.

You started the season causing shit. The Royals are still causing shit.

Would you like credit for the fact that the Royals didn't cause shit for some time in between there? Fine - it's yours. THAT'S what you're bunched the **** up about?

All yours sport, the Royals have gone several months without embarrassing themselves nationally. Glad to see Ned to keep them in line for most of the summer. Now how 'bout you fess up to the fact that the Royals have stirred more shit this season than every single other team in major league baseball and nobody's particularly close?

I thought LaRussa had a tendency to overmanage the game, but I liked him a lot.

But go ahead Hootie. We all hated LaRussa....

It's especially comical when it gets to 'well they steal signs at home' as often applied to the Jays, as though Toronto has some guy with a flashlight under the batters eye. Yup - 400 feet away there's a guy flashing a light to give away pitch type/location. Even under the 'conventional' sign stealing gripe where the guy at 2b does it, I've not bought it. Catchers set up late enough these days that stealing signs is damn near impossible when you think about the mechanics involved. When the runner is on 2b, pitchers/catchers scramble their signs to the point that I don't think it's realistic to say that baserunners are stealing pitch type. As to location, the catcher generally sets up location right as the windup is starting. As a better you'd have to have some small, nearly imperceptible signal from a baserunner and in that period of time that the pitcher is winding up you'd have to take your eye off the pitcher, look at the baserunner and then pick the ball back up mid-delivery to get a read on spin, etc... With a runner on 2b presumably the pitcher is in the stretch so things are sped up even more.
The CF stuff is ridiculous and largely driven from a horribly written ESPN story from the second Cito Gaston era five years ago where a few whiners made a baseless accusation. Other than Bautista/Encarnacion, there is literally nobody left on the team among the players/coaching staff from those days. If the Jays have really been stealing signs for all that time out there, they've been doing an awful job of it.

I'm loving this beef that teams are starting to develop with the Bluejays. It tells me that the Jays are just a pest and an opponent that other teams hate playing against. That's just beautiful.

Every team has a situation or two like this a year, that's the norm. All my point ever was was that there was no battle to be had in the Jays/Royals series until the beginning of the 4th game when the Royals instigated a conflict with a beanball.

I've said this a dozen times but the stupid ****er just keeps repeating his narrative. It's why you are better served to ignore him wherever he goes.

I liked LaRussa; always did. The guy is probably the best tactical manager in modern baseball history and despite some questionable people skills, he was an exceptional leader (just not the 'players coach' type). Shit, I liked YOST before this pack of bandwagon assclowns started professing their admiration for him. I said it when they hired him as a bench coach (I believe to Deez, no less) that the Royals had their next manager on the bench and that he's a damn good baseball guy. I thought the dude got absolutely jobbed in Milwaukee.

But because I think Mike Matheny is a shit for brains (something that Duncan has also backed on occasion), I must just hate all managers. Whatever - Hootie's a circus clown but here he has people on his side of the argument so he'll get his dander up a bit.

Cool man. I don't watch the Cardinals, so I don't pretend to know more about the Cardinals than people who watch the Cardinals.

On the contrary...

But feel free to point out where I've been wrong about the Royals this year. Pro tip: don't look at any off-season or spring training threads ... You know, because I was dead on with everything.

Oh, and I also didn't concede the division after leasing an early July series while my team was in 1st place by 2.5 games lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

#1) No Cardinal fan brought up the Cardinals in this thread without some bitchmade Royal fan bringing them up. You know why? Because the Cardinals aren’t relevant to the discussion. Rather, we are dispassionate about your team. When we say that you all are acting like a bunch of ****ing punks, it’s not the word of God because we’re Cardinal fans, it’s the opinion of the rest of baseball. You all just want it to be an example of Cardinal fans acting superior because you’re so goddamned jealous of them, when the reality is that the Royals are just being assholes. You all have convinced yourselves that Cardinals fans are something they’re not because you need to invent a narrative to hate them beyond the fact that they are simply a better franchise than the Royals. Thus, you nitpick on the fans, because you can’t do it on the on-field results. And now, like Vanderbilt fans, you’re talking about the success of the AL in interleague, as if that somehow means your team wasn’t a pile of shit for three decades, and that there is no way that the Cardinals could have been successful in the AL.

#2) Don’t worry, I’m sure that you all are just being persecuted because you had one successful year in a morass of ineptitude. That must be why the Texas Rangers started getting in fights with everyone in 2011 and why the Pirates threw down five times in 2014. Oh, wait—that didn’t happen? Hmm. Wonder why? And in a feeble and stupid attempt to discredit the Cardinals, you end up dragging up examples stretching across several years (some of them completely invented, like our supposed dustups with the Pirates). Did you ever think that if you need to go back three Congresses to find enough paired examples as your team has had in four months that maybe you all are the ones with a ****ing problem?
“You know John, that woman is 65 years old, she’s slept with 20 men over the course of her life. That’s the same as the 16 year old who has slept with 20, right?”

#3) Let’s just say that the HBP numbers are meaningful (they aren’t). Why have you had more dustups than anyone else in baseball this year, including teams #1 and #2 in said standings?

#4) A few weeks ago I was standing in line in the grocery store. Behind me were two guys with less than fifteen teeth combined, talking about how stupid people with college degrees were. I thought to myself, “well, if I’m so stupid compared to you, why have I mastered oral hygiene while you’re gumming corn on the cob?” You ****s sound exactly like those two dumbasses when talking about us showing our ass in this thread. It doesn’t have to be based in truth; it’s true because you can make a baseless claim and have it bounce about the echo chamber, where you’re right because you’re right and no amount of evidence means anything. Perhaps you all should set up a Royals Holocaust museum, where your years of persecution can be compared to the greatest crimes in human history. It should fit in perfectly inside an annex in the Creationism Museum, both even have the same amount of proof.

#5) If watching the games means so much, how can so many of you be so consistently wrong about so much? Too many of you have been infected by Hootie strains of dumb****ery: invent a narrative, cherry pick stats, ignore any evidence to the contrary.

A lot of you are better than this.
This ****ing guy.............

Don't ask me, ask Harold Reynolds or the folks on ESPN.

Are you that insulated that you really didn't see the national media ripping the Royals in late April/Early May?

Yes, they embarrassed themselves with that crap. Like I said, if you want to wear the black hat, wear it and wear it proud, but you don't then get to yell at the Blue Jays and tell them they should just get over it.

The Royals and their fans never would.
