It's especially comical when it gets to 'well they steal signs at home' as often applied to the Jays, as though Toronto has some guy with a flashlight under the batters eye. Catchers set up late enough these days that stealing signs is damn near impossible when you think about the mechanics involved. As to location, the catcher generally sets up location right as the windup is starting. As a better you'd have to have some small, nearly imperceptible signal from a baserunner and in that period of time that the pitcher is winding up you'd have to take your eye off the pitcher, look at the baserunner and then pick the ball back up mid-delivery to get a read on spin, etc... With a runner on 2b presumably the pitcher is in the stretch so things are sped up even more.

The CF stuff is ridiculous and largely driven from a horribly written ESPN story from the second Cito Gaston era five years ago where a few whiners made a baseless accusation. Other than Bautista/Encarnacion, there is literally nobody left on the team among the players/coaching staff from those days. If the Jays have really been stealing signs for all that time out there, they've been doing an awful job of it.

I'm loving this beef that teams are starting to develop with the Bluejays. It tells me that the Jays are just a pest and an opponent that other teams hate playing against. That's just beautiful.

Every team has a situation or two like this a year, that's the norm. All my point ever was was that there was no battle to be had in the Jays/Royals series until the beginning of the 4th game when the Royals instigated a conflict with a beanball.

I liked LaRussa; always did. The guy is probably the best tactical manager in modern baseball history and despite some questionable people skills, he was an exceptional leader (just not the 'players coach' type). Shit, I liked YOST before this pack of bandwagon assclowns started professing their admiration for him. I said it when they hired him as a bench coach (I believe to Deez, no less) that the Royals had their next manager on the bench and that he's a damn good baseball guy. I thought the dude got absolutely jobbed in Milwaukee.

But because I think Mike Matheny is a shit for brains (something that Duncan has also backed on occasion), I must just hate all managers. Whatever - Hootie's a circus clown but here he has people on his side of the argument so he'll get his dander up a bit.

#4) A few weeks ago I was standing in line in the grocery store. Behind me were two guys with less than fifteen teeth combined, talking about how stupid people with college degrees were. I thought to myself, “well, if I’m so stupid compared to you, why have I mastered oral hygiene while you’re gumming corn on the cob?” You ****s sound exactly like those two dumbasses when talking about us showing our ass in this thread. It doesn’t have to be based in truth; it’s true because you can make a baseless claim and have it bounce about the echo chamber, where you’re right because you’re right and no amount of evidence means anything. Perhaps you all should set up a Royals Holocaust museum, where your years of persecution can be compared to the greatest crimes in human history. It should fit in perfectly inside an annex in the Creationism Museum, both even have the same amount of proof.

#5) If watching the games means so much, how can so many of you be so consistently wrong about so much? Too many of you have been infected by Hootie strains of dumb****ery: invent a narrative, cherry pick stats, ignore any evidence to the contrary.
