Looking for a quad cab pickup

I've spent the last 6 1/2 years getting the crap beat out of me by my rough riding Dakota and I don't really want another one.

I've seen a few Explorer Sport Tracs that are reasonably priced, but I'm worried that they're cheap for a reason. I know the Explorers of the 90s were garbage.

I do like the Chevy Colorados but the resale on them is ridiculous. Hell I may as well buy a Toyota for what they're going for. And they have a 5 cyl...wtf?

Anybody have any experiences with either of these?

I'm in Minneapolis. Few issues. Since its new, I park away from everyone else, so I see it as a way to exercise. Had it downtown, in a few parking garages. in 5mph traffic. No issues.

The worst was the school district central office. I was lucky to get out. Next time I will park at Walgreens and walk across the street. Or park it with the busses. it also has front and back sensors, a camera and automatic fold in mirrors.

Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around, it's the easiest thing I know.

Yeah I can't help myself. I grew up here in Montana and learned how to drive when there was no speed limit or the worst case scenario you got a $5 ticket that didn't go on your record.

LOL

I'm actually pretty decent at getting it where it needs to be. I have to back it out of the driveway (usually in the dark) every morning. What's tough is when morons in town pull out in front of you/cut you off/otherwise cause you to stop quickly. That thing is absurdly overweight *ahem* loaded legally and that particular truck is a POS (the one I normally have on there is far better) and getting the bitch shut down in a hurry is a ****ing job.

My problem is I don't have a lot of patience when I'm driving. I'm the asshole who's always jumping lanes trying to slice through traffic and zipping through turns. I don't see a full size truck being a good fit for my driving style. I'd probably end up flipping the damn thing.

I have a Trail Blazer which, I believe is the same chassis as the colorado and there isn't any appreciable difference in driving performance other than turning radius. The Trail Blazer turns way shorter than Mrs. Buehler445's Regal. If anything my Sierra is better in traffic because of the power/weight ratio (acceleration).

I bought a 2008 Colorado from my brother. He is a pumper, beat the shit out of the truck. I got the truck with 213k miles. It had a transmission replaced around 150k. Other than that, it was a solid truck. Interior was shot from the dirt roads, but mechanically, it was solid.

He serviced it every 3k miles. I would still have the truck if our family didn't grow by two.

I'd stay away from the new Ford with the aluminum frame.

To be honest I'd go with a Toyota. Great truck. They run good, easy to repair. And they have bolt on bedsides. What else could you ask for!

Owned 7 F 150's and never had one let me down. Chevys have suspension issues and high mechanical problems.

If you can afford a giant 5th wheel, don't worry about the cost of the pickup. Holy balls. Those things are worth more than my house.
