The foot or so longer than it is than a compact is of no significance. The biggest thing about it is, just like with any car, don't get something underpowered. Mine has a 5.3 and it is snappy. My old one had a 5.3, and this one is way faster.

EDIT: Parking lots with tiny assed spaces are kind of a pain, but it is a negligible increase in PIA from a compact.

My 2003 F150 has a 4.6L V8 and that is plenty of power.
