DJ: "I don't want to go to another team"

Sounds like he wants to return to KC no matter what.

Age is always an issue.

Did you see Peyton Manning this year?

Every NFL player's body breaks down. Some guys know that they're at the end of the line, so they retire gracefully. Others hit the wall suddenly and are dumped from the game.

It would be a miracle if DJ could play two more seasons at a high level. Personally, I only expect one.

I think DJ's legacy is going to skyrocket once he retires. Never in trouble always making plays.

as long as his contract demands are reasonable, he'll stay here.

I think DJ stays.

I get the feeling that Berry is going to rape us though.

Which is why I'm all for offering him a 2 to 3 year deal. Guarantee the 1st year and half of the 2nd.

I can't imagine another team paying him more than his market value. He's 33 years old and the wheels could fall off at any moment.

Also, I don't think there's another team that's "a middle linebacker away" from a championship and if they believe that, Travathan's their guy (who I'd love in Chiefs uni, too).

Somewhere around 2 years, $8 million guaranteed would be a good starting point, IMO.

They need to be able to get out cleanly after two years.

I'd love to sign Trevathian. Either sign him or draft Jaylon Smith.

All of the scouts and former scouts I follow on Twitter think Smith won't make it out of the Top Ten.

Travathan would be the bomb. The dude is a complete ILB that can cover.

The defense would benefit greatly from him presence but with all of the Chiefs needs, I doubt he's even being targeted in free agency by the Chiefs.

No way. Brandon Marshall is better than him.

He's a fast solid tackling LB with decent coverage skills. He doesn't play the run that well. He's basically what we hope Ramik Wilson becomes.

Before he tore 2 ligaments in his knee, I'd totally agree.

He might not be ready for week 1, let alone off season activities.

I don't think it would be too crazy for him to be there in the early 20s if we want to move up to get him.

Pairing him with DJ for a couple years would be amazing.

This is great news. We'd be fools to not get a deal done if it's reasonable.
