One more win and it's 12 straight. Also, if Xavier beats Nova tomorrow night and we beat Tech Saturday we'll be the new #1 team and the projected overall #1 seed in the dance, for the moment anyway lol.

Yeah I have to agree. He's a finesse player. He is. So what, he's a damn good one. And we have NO inside scoring without him. LITERALLY. NONE. ZERO. ZILCH. THANK GOD HE'S HERE.

Not necessarily. They certainly wouldn't be anywhere near as good without their best offensive player, but in a world in which Perry Ellis didn't exist, it's quite possible Diallo/Bragg would have developed into pretty good players given his minutes. And by good players, I mean two-way players that actually play both offense and defense (which Perry has not and never will be able to do). Such softness is never a good character trait to have come March.

I'd be shocked if KU wasn't a one seed. If they just win their home games, it should be enough. Their resume is superior to anyone else's. Field is real weak this year.

55 possession game, lowest of the season by 8 possessions and the lowest since 52 at Baylor last season. I hate giving Drew credit for anything, but he was able to control the pace once again. Just couldn't pick up the W.

If only he had 20 timeouts.

Give it a rest dude.

Ellis isn't soft. Guy has taken a beating over the course of his KU career playing at the PF position at 6'7" or less and getting out-weighed by nearly everyone he goes against. He should have been the three since his freshman year.

Whose the leading scorer on this team? Whose the leading rebounder on this team? Who was the leading scorer AND REBOUNDER on last years team? Who was the second leading scorer and rebounder on the 2013/14 team?

Yeah, it's that soft pussy who you can't wait to wave bye-bye to. Soft pussies don't lead a top ten team in rebounds for two straight years. Soft pussies don't lead a top ten team in scoring for two straight years. Soft pussies aren't the second leading scorer and rebounder on a team that features two lottery picks.

Stopped right there before reading the rest of your apologetic nonsense. There's not one person who has watched Perry Ellis play at KU that would honestly agree with that statement.

And give me a break with the outweighed/outsized garbage. The guy is a 6'8, 230 pound athletic specimen who compares well physically with just about any other PF in the conference. We've also seen him play tough and at a high intensity in short stretches (see last year at the end of conference season when he was straight up dominating teams until he got hurt), so to say he simply can't do it is also bullshit. He's fully capable of more, but has never changed.

The guy's just a one-way finesse player. Excellent offensively, but soft and horrid defensively. How you haven't yet admitted that to yourself four years in, I have no idea.

Somebody brought it up earlier in this thread that he seems to really have a lot of success when in the full-court press, oddly enough. I definitely saw that tonight on the couple of possessions that KU went to the press

He's certainly been one of their better offensive players. Unfortunately, he's terribly soft (the beating on the boards that he took today from Gathers/Motley/Prince only being the latest example) and a horrific defender. I'm sorry that it hurts you so much for anybody to point those facts out, but I'm never going to neglect mentioning that as long as he's playing basketball at KU.

Thank God he did. If he'd just turn it on for half the possessions KU would rape.

Lucas was also key down the stretch again. Baylor stopped getting the OREBs/extra possessions because of him (although we have to again give thanks to Drew for pulling Rico Gathers for no good reason and making it much easier on Landen).

One more win to #12. Best to get it on Saturday and not leave it to @Texas/ISU.
I'm glad Landen is moving well and playing aggressively now. Why he hasn't with his size to this point in his career boggles the mind. He obviously wants to win, he just refused to be aggressive for 3 ****ing years. I don't get it.

You have to give Perry credit. They obviously ran a bunch of plays to get their guards to drive right into him and he shut them down every time, several times playing on the ball defense against a guard without help for long distances and plenty of time for the guards to break him down. That is really, REALLY difficult for a guy his size and lack of experience doing so. That was really impressive.

It was also quite obviously the wrong gameplan. The right one is to isolate Garthers on him and foul him out. They were calling it tight tonight and Gaethers was raping him. Well, everybody. God I'd love to see Gaethers in red.

That was me. Obviously Self reads my posts and values my opinions

I just don't understand how he can be so damn effective on the front of a press and be so brain dead in the half court. His 4th foul was an epic facepalm. And being the front guy on the press is far more complex typically and has a lot more risk of getting abused and Traylor does the hard stuff and FUBARs the easy stuff.
