The three best offensive players in the NBA today spend each and every game exaggerating contact on plays that aren't fouls (and that's only the tip of the iceberg) and I'm supposed to single Marcus Smart out as some awful plague on the NBA? Give me a ****ing break. In the modern NBA, these guys do what they have to do to help their teams win the game.

It's not a current trend either. It's called selling and a well taught maneuver by any decent coach.

Yes, it's always been around but the trend has only become more prevalent in the modern NBA. The fines are really more for appearance's sake than anything else because it's certainly not going to stop them. As Kerr said, it's just a part of the game now. It seems all that won't stop people here from vilifying Smart, though, and acting like he's some kind of exception rather than just a small cog in the much bigger system.

Forget the fact that guys like Harden, Curry, and LeBron make flopping on minimal to no contact a staple of their games, it is Marcus Smart that is ruining the sport one deception at a time.
