You're such a dumbass. You don't even realize you're destroying your argument AGAINST Bill Self. If UNC and Villanova are the best 2 teams, that means KU LOST TO A BETTER TEAM.

I never complained about the Nova loss. Lol, you thought you had a grand point here, but again you faceplant.

95% of a program is the system the coach installs. Maybe at a blue blood the floor is higher, so you can say 75% is the coach. If he's doing everything the same, that lends itself to the crapshoot idea far more than you are disproving it.

No man, it's all a crapshoot. These two aren't very good, they just got lucky. (Except their combined scoring margin of +202 is the highest ever for a finals matchup)

How you play in the playoffs has been a measure of success in American sports since before any of us have been alive.

For some reason around here KU Basketball gets a pass with all of this "crapshoot" nonsense.

Don't want a playoff? Go root for an EPL team.

To the rest of us we have no problem identifying that there is an issue with Self in these games.

Personally I think it's player talent. Self is great at getting the most out his team which if I had to choose I would take over some of these other coaches that get top tier talent and win championships.

Would just be nice if for Self to make that final leap to the highest level.

Well, KCConnection was ok with his Jays losing the ALCS to the Royals, saying they still were better in the regular season advanced sabermetrics. (True story)

Lotsa fans are happy with league titles and March disappointments. It's no shame losing to Nova but when is he going to WIN an actual toss up?

There's simply no point. Bambi and Prison Bitch are dug in and refuse to see any logic. DERP 1 seeds made it to the elite eight! No crapshoot!

What about the lower seeds? What about MSU being 2nd in their precious Pomeroy rankings and losing their first game?

LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU

PB, I think you struggle with understanding how compound probability of multiple independent events work. Even if a team is #1, they will have lets say a 98% chance to beat the 16 seed, 75% to beat the 8 seed, 60% to beat the 4 seed, 55% chance to beat the 2seed. And that is just to get to the final four. To go through that minefield to win a championship, it's always unprobable no matter who you are.

A good team usually wins, DUH! But that doesn't mean it isn't any less of a crapshoot. I don't know why you are still freaking out about the Villanova game. Nobody was even a favorite in that game, we just got a shitty draw. Would have been nice to capitalize on it, but we didn't. KU plays Villanova 10 times, it probably goes 5-5.

Let it go. All you can do is put your team in a position to be successful and the highest seed as possible for the NCAA Tournament, and hope you do well. Any teams lack of success based on their seed, or vice versa more or less just happenstance. KU may be perceived to "choking" in the NCAA Tournament, but that is just because they have had way way more opportunities than anybody else to do so and we almost always get a really high seed in the last TWO decades. You have to accept what the NCAA Tournament is, and you apparently do not.
