![]() I disagree. They just set up their future. I can't believe that people are freaking over a couple of 2nd round picks and a couple of 3rd round picks. Less than 50% of those picks pan out. If they got their QB, like the Giants did in 2004, phantom 2nd rounders won't matter. |

But maaan, TWO firsts - TWO seconds - AND TWO thirds just sounds incredibly steep Two firsts is reasonable enough, that seems pretty common for a move like this But after that they should've bargained a LOT harder IMO... a second this year and a third next year, something along those lines And, not trying to rain on your parade as I can CLEARLY sense your glee at having a home team to get behind ![]() He is the last guy I would want coaching my rookie phenom, that guy doesnt know a quarterback from Nickelback |

They received a 2nd round pick in the Bradford trade, so it was a no-brainer to trade up for a QB. This is a league in which there's a 50% bust rate so even with the #1, 2 #2's and 2 #3's, 2-3 of those guys won't even be in the league in three years. If they hit on a Franchise QB, no one will care. Also, as I mentioned earlier, they have an additional 4th and 6th. The Broncos are interested in Case Keenum, so they'll probably get at least a 4th for him, if not a 3rd (Denver has two 3rd rounders at #94 and #98). This trade was a no-brainer for a team that hasn't had a Franchise QB since Warner hit a lull in 2003, was released and went to the NY Giants in 2004. It has nothing to do with "splash" and everything to do with moving the team forward. |

They also have a legit defense and a new Marshall Faulk to pair him with, I still just disagree with 2 each in the second and third Give someone like Dorsey 4 shots in those rounds and they wouldnt seem so meaningless IMO... but I'm just an interested observer, no dog in this fight and I hope it works out well in LA Who are you wanting them to get? |

This is LA.
This team may end up keeping a great defense but they know LA has no interest in a Ravens Style Winning team. It will be an offensive Coach and a couple offensive players that get plenty of hype |

Does Goff have a good head on his shoulders? He'll need it in LA. He'll be pretty popular in LA too.

I don't think it's a bad moves from the Rams. They're a hell of a lot more likely to succeed with a franchise qb than they are with a bunch of good players and no qb. This is the anti-Hunt family approach to building an NFL team.
They may be wrong about the QB they choose, but ultimately if the goal is a serious SB contender, they won't be any further from their goal for swinging and missing.

No surprise the fans of a team who refuses to even pretend to want to swing at QB dislikes seeing a team swing for the fence.

I get the idea behind being aggressive, but there is also a wide, wide, wiiiide gap between being scared to draft a QB and trading 6 draft picks for one.
But people said the same thing when Washington made the RGIII trade. Just like there's no rule that you have to wait for Andrew Luck to draft a QB in the 1st round, there's no rule saying you have to mortgage the entire draft to move up to #1 to get one either. But if you do go that route, he better be that good. |

Or the Rams Draft A QB in the 1st and maybe a later round and behold, that later round QB ends up being a super star. Kroenke is the new Kraft, get use to it |

Dane is correct. Have you gone back and looked at the 2nd and 3rd rounds of drafts? It's pretty ugly.
