This is a league in which there's a 50% bust rate so even with the #1, 2 #2's and 2 #3's, 2-3 of those guys won't even be in the league in three years. If they hit on a Franchise QB, no one will care. Also, as I mentioned earlier, they have an additional 4th and 6th. The Broncos are interested in Case Keenum, so they'll probably get at least a 4th for him, if not a 3rd (Denver has two 3rd rounders at #94 and #98). This trade was a no-brainer for a team that hasn't had a Franchise QB since Warner hit a lull in 2003, was released and went to the NY Giants in 2004. It has nothing to do with "splash" and everything to do with moving the team forward. |
