NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans on Thursday agreed to a deal in principle with Jon Robinson to be the team’s new general manager.

. . .

Robinson joins the Titans after spending the past two seasons as director of player personnel with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In that role, Robinson oversaw all areas of the scouting department, both college and pro, in addition to free agency preparation, evaluating players in the NFL and other professional leagues, according to the Buccaneers. He also assisted with college scouting and preparation for the NFL Draft.

. . .

Robinson joined the Buccaneers after 12 seasons with the New England Patriots (2002-13). Robinson worked as New England’s director of college scouting (2009-13), and prior to that served as a regional scout and an area scout for the Patriots.

It probably means the Chargers go after Tunsil who will be a HUGE help for them.

I'd have rather seen them take Ramsey than Tunsil. Ramsey may be a great player, but he won't make as big a difference for them as an elite LT would.

I don't buy the idea that this will automatically make the Titans a better team. The extra picks are nice but making the right draft decisions isn't easy.

The Rams received all those picks from Washington and never made it to the playoffs, while Washington has been in the playoffs twice since the trade.

Plus, the Titans retained Mike Mularkey as their head coach. That alone proves that Jon Robinson isn't the brightest of NFL GM's.

I don't necessarily disagree with that, but Verrett, Ingram, and Ramsey would be a really great core on defense. I think they'd have a better chance of being better in the long term with Ramsey, but Tunsil makes them better day 1.

They're not giving up 6 1st and 2d day picks for a LT, especially with no credible QB on the roster.

So my best guess for the top 5 is going to be.....

Rams - Carson Wentz
Browns - Jared Goff
Chargers - Laremy Tunsil
Cowboys - Jalen Ramsey
Jaguars - Myles Jack

Yea that's what I'd say too.

That would be stupid. But hey they are the Rams.

The Rams will receive a 2017 3rd round comp pick for Janoris Jenkins, so this isn't as blight as it might appear on the surface.

If Wentz is Andrew Luck, the Rams win the trade.

Yea all this talk about the Rams losing this trade is stupid.

If they get themselves a franchise QB to go along with Gurley and a pretty good defense, it'll be worth it.
