If you're referring to why the NFL is popular more so than any other sport in the U.S right now, I think it involves a few things:
1. The sense of cultural belonging to supporting a local football team on a cool, crisp autumn evening or Saturday afternoon in the fall in high school. 2. How relatively inexpensive the sport is when compared to baseball and hockey. 3. The size of the sporting venues are larger than any other sport out there in the U.S. 4. The violence of the sport appeals to our id. 5. The strike of 1994 in MLB caused a fall in the popularity of MLB. |
