****Seahawks @ Chiefs Preseason GDT****

So many players to finally see in action.

No injuries and a Chiefs victory would be swell.

Ford has never shown any anticipation in his play whatsoever as opposed to 'Big Dadi' who plays like a 'blood hound' heading everything off at the pass.

Unfortunately Dee Ford is looking like GB's Nick Perry.
The whole time I'm watching these guys that you mentioned here in your statement(as well as 'Big Dadi') play against these 2nd and 3rd stringers shredding them, I'm thinking and wishing that Reid would have put Ford back in to see if he would have matched their play or dropped off. I think that would have put a red flag in Ford's heart and mind sensing that they(coaches) have serious questions about me. I would have done it if I were a coach to not only send a message but to truly find out if this kid is just a poser or not.

When will you be picking up that authentic Dee Ford jersey? The next DT!

If this guy was in Denver or San Diego you'd be laughing your ass off at him.

Khalil Mack got 5 sacks against Denver's shit RT last year. So those also do not count if we're being consistent, correct?

10 sack season then. Nothing special. He must be overrated.

yea but Khalil Mack actually knows how to stop the run to go with his sacks. From day 1 really. So even if he got 5 sacks in one game, he's not going to get run over in the other games he doesn't get any pass rush like Ford does.

I've agreed that he's struggled and is not playing at the level he needs to be playing at. That doesn't change the fact that most of his issues are in the run game, and he's been a better pass rusher than you guys want to give him credit for. The stats that you love to go to so much back it up. What's the problem?

Plus, didn't you learn your lesson from Sean Smith and Eric Fisher? Guys get better all of the time and shut you up, but continue acting like Ford's a lost cause.

Dezman Moses could be a nice OLB IMO. Idk why the Packers let him go. As a rookie he had 4 sacks and a forced fumble and they just cut him after that season.

Moses only played 55 snaps last year so he hasn't exactly had a chance to show anything. This year should be the year to mix him in.

The Ford saga isn't going to resolve itself over the course of a few measly preseason games.

For one thing, his supposed most valuable attribute is going to be neutered running basic schemes.

It's fair criticism of the guy for not being fundamentally sound. DT was a target of offenses running right at him, couldn't drop into coverage worth a lick, often his splits left major gap issues, and routinely ran around coverage so wide or deep he took himself out of plays.

Gunther had to scheme around him with a his Falcon position to basically give Derrick free reign 90% of the time to simply be a rush end.

Not to shit on Thomas, because Ford hasn't sniffed being remotely as dangerous on the edge or earned the right to just pin his ears back and unleashed to simply attack.

If the kid can't handle the responsibility of being an every down player and isn't going to give you at minimum 15+ sacks, cut your losses and move on. He's still on a rookie contract, so the cap implications are at least in your favor.

You've got this season to see how it works out or not. This time last year, the Fisher fan club probably consisted of Eric and his parents, and even his dad was on the fence about if he'd renew his membership.

You simply cannot write a guy off because they haven't been on the field full time, or have taking longer to transition. Not everyone gets it the first year, especially not when you aren't even on the field.

Ford will have a good season. I guarantee it. And everyone will shut up.
Son, don't make me take your computer privileges away from you.

I hope you're right but I'm still not sold.

This might be a good opportunity for a friendly wager.

Besides, I also gave the sacks to snaps stats, and they back that up.
YOU DO REALIZE THAT DEE FORD NOT PLAYING FOR A YEAR AND A HALF IS NOT A DEFENSE OF HIM, BUT AN INDICTMENT, DON'T YOU? DON'T YOU??!

Player X is drafted in first round.

Player X can't get on the field for a year and a half.

Player X is forced into action due to injury.

Player X has five games, playing every snap, and does jack shit.

Player X has one good game, gets three sacks against the worst OL in football.

Player X clearly is a good player and definitely not a bust.
