Difference is that Eli was the consensus top #1 overall pick in the draft. He was a franchise quarterback prospect that could lead a team for the next 15-years. Add in Philip Rivers, who the Giants traded to the Chargers for Eli.
Archie Manning knew what he was doing – Eli has two Super Bowl rings. From the San Diego Tribune: Quote:
Bad decision that could cost a player millions of dollars.

The trade deadline passed, therefore he has one option - Sign or sit out the season and lose millions of dollars. What team in their right mind would select Bosa in the first round after sitting out an entire season? I agree with everyone who called him selfish. Walking away from almost $19 million on the table at age 20-21 years old is absurd. Meanwhile, the other 31 teams are breathing a sigh of relief that they did not select him in the first round. Just my opinion.

He could still work out for teams next spring, right? You could talk to him and his agent and agree on what the contract would be before you draft him. Get a potential top 5 talent (I'm assuming this is the case, I don't know anything about his ability) at the end of the first round? Sounds like a good gamble (Dorsey has taken similar gambles that have paid off). |

As far as the 31 other teams comments go, all 31 other teams would have locked him up by now, and not been petty about not giving their top draft pick what he should be getting. |
