Chiefs run defense

preseason, i get it. doesn't matter, i get it.

but i see what i see. our 1st two games the #1 defense was pushed around pretty easily. is it houston/hali/mauga/berry? all key guys obviously. but i see our DLine getting manhandled, and that's what concerns me right now.

the DLine is allegedly a strength of the team. talent wise, it looks like it should be. something i haven't seen discussed is the new DLine coaches for this year, and whether that is playing into this issue or not?

britt reid is leading the DLine coaches for the 1st year. i cant help but wonder if we have a gap in the coaching staff here that might account for some of the issues early this preseason.

That is a far cry from him saying that Mauga is the savior of the defense, or that he is going to tear it up this season. If you don't like him, that's your business. But you and a few others are attacking him from every angle and it's getting ridiculous. This site has ran off a lot of good posters over the years. Staylor is a quality poster. No need to keep this up and run him off too.

Says the dipshit that thinks Streater should be the #2 based on the preseason.

I really hope you're trolling. Do you even know who Chris Conley is? Are you not aware that he's currently the #2, and has been all offseason? Have you followed TC or watched the preseason games?

This really is the second time that you seem to imply it's between Wilson or streater at the number 2.

I've gotten on staylor myself for different things. Probably will again. In this case he basically has admitted he was wrong about march short-term. It's also not crazy to believe our depth at dl could step up. Of all the position depth besides rb, dl has the best set of raw talent to step up and break out. I don't share his optimism about the young secondary for this season but I do for the young dl backups.

If you watch the Seattle game, Poe was royally getting blown off the ball. It was bizarre to watch. Ford also wasn't containing his edge.

We just need Ford and Zombo to play smarter out there. And we need Poe to play like Poe.

Everything will sort itself out at that point.

This is what I noticed. Poe has not looked like a guy in a contract year. By far the most disappointing DL.

Poe inst going to fall off the map...sheesh. March is essentially a rookie.....

No Houston/Hali/Muaga/Gaines/Berry...and people expect them to not skip a beat? If they didn't..then the Chiefs have massively over-paid for 3 of their stars.

Or maybe he's just coasting it cause it's Pre-season and he knows he's a lock anyways. Saving it up for the games that matter.

I may be the only one, here, not fretting over the preseason run defense...they were without a lot of players.

March runs to the ball..which is why he is Johnson's heir apparent. He did this...instinctively..which led the the big run but was filling in for Muaga. It's why Ford is struggling trying to be Houston..he was drafted to replace Hali.

The experience is good...it's preseason and doesn't matter.

We're talking about Poe's play specifically when Seattle was just manhandling him.
