The Chiefs estimated Salary Cap next year is $166 million but currently, they have players under contract for $170.5 million, which includes Foles at $10 million, Mauga at $3 million, Charles at $7 million, Colquitt at $5 million.

While it's possible we could see those players cut or restructured, I still don't believe it'll be enough to carry a $12 million dollar per safety, as they have other needs (and the draft).

The Chiefs wouldn't be paying him $12 million next year. First year cap hits are always small and the player gets more guaranteed $$.

I realize that but it would astounding if the Chiefs signed Berry to a long term deal in 2017, because it would have been far less expensive to make it happen in 2016.
