Most structures will survive the wind (especially post-Hurricane Andrew with enhanced building code requirements).

The storm surge is usually what kills people in these storms.

Here is an interesting article on how hurricanes get their name. It use to be all female names but apparently women were getting offended at that so now it is male and female names.

The names rotate every six years so the same name could pop up every six years. The exception to that rule is if the hurricane is determined to be particularly damaging are retired for legal and historical reasons. For example, the use of the name Katrina was retired in 2005 following the devastating impact that Hurricane Katrina had on New Orleans.

They are saying the storm surge is going to be between 6-10 feet (not counting the wave action) in Daytona Beach. I hope you are on some very high ground, good luck.
