I went with draft/Romo
I would rather draft high and start but KC wont do that. at least with Romo we have a big name that might get us some calls and isnt afraid to take shots downfield. Plus when he does get hurt (not if but when), we have a possible qbotf to take over |

Chiefs get 1st pick and there's no QB worth taking. We draft fullback.

Cutting Alex and gaining over $9M in cap space while leaving around $7M in dead money is better than keeping him and starting him in his current state.
Yeah, we'd have some dead money, but we'd have a lot more money to spend and as has been mentioned, there are rookies who can do more than he's doing. |

FYI, cutting Alex after this year and voiding Foles contract saves near $20 million to our cap.
Sounds pretty appetizing at the moment. |

Your options suck. I vote for draft a QB early, but stick with Alex until we have an alternative.
Romo is broken and would cost WAY too much. |

Sign Smith to another super long term contract. Make him the highest paid QB in the league.

I didn't make an option for drafting a QB and keeping Alex because that seems stupid to me.
The Alex we have seen as of late is no better than the rookies coming into the league recently. If Alex finds himself and the offense finishes much stronger? Ok, I'd consider, but right now, no. |

Luke Falk if he comes out this year. He practically runs Andy's offense anyway plus he is more likely to audible to run.

If healthy, Tony Romo would be the best QB the Chiefs have fielded in my lifetime AND he's proven that he's a great teammate.
Cutting/trading Alex and Nick would create the nessesary cap space to make the move, too. Here's where it gets dicey. It's gonna take a first rounder to trade for Romo..at least I presume that's his value, even at his age and health. His remaining contract is managable...Dallas would need to eat the dead money so KC would be on the hook for 14.5m 19.5m 20.5m The guaranteed $ is gone. Cutting Foles and Alex clears 20m in cap space. The tough part is how do we draft a QB in the first if we traded a first for Romo? |

Saw this morning on a pregame show where they said it was expected they could only get mid-round compensation for Romo. Even a 5th rounder was suggested.
No team will be desperate enough to trade a high pick for a guy coming off major surgeries, of that age. Considering his cap hit, Dallas would be lucky to get a 3rd imo. |
