Alex Smith is a solid QB, sorry haters. Bucs win 5th game in a row.

Despite the common thought here that Alex Smith held down the team Sunday, Smith's overall production to the team yesterday graded out very positive in 3 rankings:
Smith: QBR 94.1, QB rating 99, PFF 71.9
Winston: QBR 83.6, QB rating 97, PFF 50.7

https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro...-for-bucs-win/

"Smith gained positive expected points (EPA) on 77 percent of his plays on Sunday, the second-highest rate for a QB in a game this season (Dak Prescott, 83 percent versus Chicago in Week 3). Put simply, more than three-fourths of his plays contributed to the team’s scoring margin, given the context and situation." - http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/p...s-excels-again

This is why we should use our brains instead of repeating the garbage fed to us by Mellinger and Teicher. If Smith only had 34 plays yesterday to do something with the ball and earns both a rushing and passing TD, a FG, to 1 INT (first red zone interception since 2013) and completes an outstanding 77% of passes ... we should probably focus on the real problem yesterday: The Defense. Who didn't show up and allowed Winston/Martin to hold the ball for 35 minutes, earn 24 first downs, and convert 68% of 3rd downs (league average is 40%).

Against the Bucs...

Alex Smith: 1 INT, 99 QB rating
Philip Rivers: 2 INTs, 80 QB rating
Russell Wilson: 2 INTs, 39 QB rating
Drew Brees: 3 INTs, 49 QB rating

The defense has been winning games for this team. Alex isnt helping them at all. Alex has won exactly 1 game this year for the team in which he put the team on his back and played great (S.D game).

Alex is the QB, the most important position in football. It's obviously to hard to ask that he step up and pick up the slack. He just doesnt. Its the defense that almost always has to bail his ass out. At some point, he has to step up and bail the defense out. More often that not, he doesnt.
I was with you on the first two sentences.

The following paragraphs represent an inability or unwillingness to understand the concept of TEAM. Every aspect of the team combines to either a win or loss. No aspect does nothing. No aspect does it all.

If you eat 70% of the pie (you fat pig), you did not eat the pie. The other % was eaten by one or more people. You can say you did most of the work.. sure.. but the rest of the pie is not eaten if that other % did not chip in.

This team has been highly successful at eating pies.. and with this most important position QB in place.

I agree that this QB should step up more when needed.. but he doesn't do it all by himself.

STILL amazing to me, this twisted logic out there.

Everyone accepts that Smith is not some kick ass QB.. they accept that the playcalling is shit. They accept that the injuries to Maclin hurt. They accept that receivers drop passes. They accept that the run game and OL has not been what was expected.

Yet when the struggles occur from all of this shit mentioned... they expect that this already established QB.. average.. little more? little less? they expect THIS guy to carry the brokedicked and unfortunate... when maybe 3 other QBs known in the world could... maybe.

He's the new Clayanus....

Or at least a wanna be. Eventually people will get tired of his shtick....

At least Clayanus was talented and brought gifs to the board. Blackbob really doesn't bring much.

He's the car wreck that everyone has to look at as they drive by. Or, more like a car wreck of clown cars. Everyone is thinking ' what a mangled, twisted mess'. But then they see the clowns and think ' Oh...this should be hilarious' until they see BoBo the Clown was thrown through the windshield, is decapitated, laying sprawled out on the road all bloody and in two pieces. That's when they realize nothing can be done and move on.

7-3 CHIEFS DOWN 3 from last week
Not a good day to be a Chiefs fan. First, it started with a collective Uh-oh at the news of Marcus Peters not playing. Peters is the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year, especially after forcing that fumble to set up the game-winning kick at Carolina in Week 10. You don't want your top corner out against Mike Evans, who sees more footballs thrown his way than anyone else in the game today. Of course, Alex Smith's fourth-quarter end-zone interception was even costlier than Evans' production on Sunday. Let's be straight as an arrow here: Smith isn't playing well. Far from terrible, but minimal big-play action from No. 11 has translated to just 29 offensive points over the last two weeks.

Alex Smith sucked. The defense sucked. I just don't get why we aren't giving defense a heavy heavy dose of Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West. We should be pounding it down their throat. We always get down by the goal line and then try to get cute when we've been running all over them. POUND THE ROCK UP DUVERNAY-TARDIFS FAT ASS

Is Sherman even on the field when we get inside the 5?

He should be punishing linebackers not only to help score, but to take just a little more out of them for later in the game.

Alex is a dumpster fire... 2 Concussions on him this year is taking its toll on already a crappy filled season from him.
