You're missing the entire point of this-- the TIMING of his tweet (the fact that he's even tweeting at all while his team is playing on national ****ing TV) and the vague subject matter, again, DURING the game. He's attention whoring. Just because he rarely behaves this way doesn't mean he's not doing it now.

He's looking for sympathy. Is that understandable considering what just happened to him? Maybe. But is he still guilty of attention whoring? Absolutely. I don't see how you could argue otherwise.
He's sitting in a hospital bed right now with probably a million things running through his head and millions of people asking about his status. He gave it to them. He's supposed to not tweet because of a league rule? Really? If it was Jamaal Charles tweeting that he was thinking about retirement, I wouldn't think he was attention whoring. I would just think he's emotional after a big injury and wanted to let people know his status and get his thoughts out while he lays in a hospital bed.

If he just HAS to ****ing tweet out to you and his other knob slobberers, what's wrong with, "Doc says it's a broken leg."

If he's considering retirement, then consider it. Think about it. Wait a few days. At least wait until AFTER the ****ing game. Then ****ing retire if that's your decision. No big deal.

Trying to deny that there's an obvious point of comparison there is just being militantly obstinate.

Retire, don't retire - whatever. He's a zillionaire and football is hard, taxing work. He could retire because he just doesn't want to play anymore and he'd have some justification for it (though I'd still say that Berry is a hell of a lot more dedicated to the game if he did and have ample cause for doing so).

But don't get on social media during a damn game and make it all about you. That's all that was - attention whore bullshit. Wah - you're hurt. So are a couple dozen other guys that played this week and they aren't all on Twitter during a game talking about walking away.

Berry and the fact he came back from cancer has NOTHING to do with Earl except that they play the same position. It's like saying that Reid shouldn't be able to retire just because Pagano has come back from cancer too.

Other players let it be known they were considering retirement too before they actually did. It was known that Willis, Calvin Johnson, and Marshawn Lynch were considering retirement well before they did it.

If Earl was still in the game and tweeting, then yes I would have a problem with it. But him tweeting from a hospital bed... no, I don't have a problem.

It doesn't seem like this is an argument I'll sway you guys on though so I'll tap out. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Probably.

But before today I'd have told you that it never went through Seattle anyway.

But Wilson's figured out how to work with that patchwork line after feeling his way through the first 8-10 weeks. That team looks vile now, with it without Thomas.

4 weeks ago they had a ceiling because that O was stuck in neutral. I'd say that ceiling is off at this point.

Thomas has never missed a game before last week correct? Perhaps the first long road ahead got to him. I'm sure plenty of guys think "damn is it worth it" in the moments after learning a diagnosis.

Now I do believe consciously posing it mid game is mellow dramatic. Thinking it I get. I figure he didn't really mean it and just wanted sympathy for his "situation".

It's odd because I remember in August Nut was saying Berry wasn't a leader the Chiefs shouldn't resign him etc. I agreed with him at the time about not signing him. Now he's better than Thomas?

No team has really pressured Dak yet the Seahawks could. Dallas doesn't have that good of a defense Seattle could put up at least 17.

Because the big question at the top of that draft was : do you take Thomas or Berry?

They're forever linked.

Nothing.

It has to do with people bitching about choosing the wrong S.

I imagine lots of the players today are just in it for the quick money for 3-5 years while doing something they enjoy. The idea of making many millions and retiring at age 25-30 so they can then really live the life they want.

That, and seeing how some horrific injuries can really wreck your life while still young in their 27-30's.

For the fans, better for that player to leave now rather than drag it on for years after.. just cruising with less effort, and collecting a large paycheck for it.

That has only become the question in hindsight, after the success Thomas had with with Seahawks. Eric Berry was the consensus top safety. On this board even Taylor Mays was more highly touted than Thomas.
