Alex Smith is a solid QB, sorry haters. Bucs win 5th game in a row.

Despite the common thought here that Alex Smith held down the team Sunday, Smith's overall production to the team yesterday graded out very positive in 3 rankings:
Smith: QBR 94.1, QB rating 99, PFF 71.9
Winston: QBR 83.6, QB rating 97, PFF 50.7

https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro...-for-bucs-win/

"Smith gained positive expected points (EPA) on 77 percent of his plays on Sunday, the second-highest rate for a QB in a game this season (Dak Prescott, 83 percent versus Chicago in Week 3). Put simply, more than three-fourths of his plays contributed to the team’s scoring margin, given the context and situation." - http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/p...s-excels-again

This is why we should use our brains instead of repeating the garbage fed to us by Mellinger and Teicher. If Smith only had 34 plays yesterday to do something with the ball and earns both a rushing and passing TD, a FG, to 1 INT (first red zone interception since 2013) and completes an outstanding 77% of passes ... we should probably focus on the real problem yesterday: The Defense. Who didn't show up and allowed Winston/Martin to hold the ball for 35 minutes, earn 24 first downs, and convert 68% of 3rd downs (league average is 40%).

Against the Bucs...

Alex Smith: 1 INT, 99 QB rating
Philip Rivers: 2 INTs, 80 QB rating
Russell Wilson: 2 INTs, 39 QB rating
Drew Brees: 3 INTs, 49 QB rating

Deflection again. Are you going to bet for Alex or admit by deflection all your Alex knob slobbering is just for the attention ?

What you're blabbering on about is ****ing bullshit.

The defense is top 10 in scoring and the best at taking the ball away. They give up a lot of yards and aren't great against the run but they pull their weight 99/100 and are absolutely the #1 reason we win games despite missing key players week in and week out.

This offense on the other hand is absolute trash. We have the most electric individual in the league, a beast of a running back, the best TE this side of Gronk, Jeremy Maclin and an above average OL.. And with all of that we're probably bottom third in the league in offensive PPG. If you could name me one major statistic in which the offense is even above average I'd be ****ing SHOCKED.

Alex is the main problem with this offense. Let's just call a spade a spade.

12 passing touchdowns is almost Ryan Fitzpatrick/Case Keenum level bad. In fact you could probably debate a solid argument that this team could be better with Keenum at QB which is really sad that there isnt a massive difference in production.

For the last 7 years we have had two of the biggest checkdown, sorry ass quarterbacks you could ever have in Cassel and Smith.

And we gave them a combined 140 million dollars.

So you agree, Alex doesn't have what it takes to take us to the super bowl and win.
Thought you'd never tap out. Good to see you finally coming around to reality.

Smith is plenty capable at winning a SB. Going into the final 8 teams last year 538 and Vegas had the Chiefs tied for 3rd in likelihood to win it all. Before playoff seeding has even been determined this year we're in 4th behind Seattle, Dallas, and New England.

So yes, oddsmakers and the computers truly believe that #11 is capable of winning it all. And so should you... fair weather KC fan.

This has nothing to do with odds makers. THIS IS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR KNOB SLOBBERING ALEX SMITHS COCK.
You have tapped out. You won't bet on your boy. Which makes it pretty obvious you are nothing but an attention whore.
All blow and no go.

Alex Smith on the game today:

“It’s across the board,” Smith said. “There’s no one thing. It would be hard to point to one thing.”

Way to spread the blame around, loser.

The Chiefs would be fighting for the #1 seed if this turd bucket hadn't thrown two end zone picks this year.

He's Bono II.

Just about any QB in this league is capable of winning a SB if their defense completely dominates. Denver proved that with one of the worst QB performances ever. I don't think anyone will argue that it can't be done. But this defense isn't the 2000 Ravens, or the 2002 Bucs, or even the 2015 Broncos. Our defense will have to play pretty perfect for this to happen.

I said it before, but since his biggest asset to this team is his aversion to turning the ball over, he pretty much needs to own that. He can't turn the ball over and not score points. Twice this year he's thrown back-breaking picks in the end zone. He simply cannot do that. This team, more than most, needs those points when they are in the red zone. Even if it's just three.

I'd love to have a top shelf QB...but we don't. We have a decidedly average QB. This is what he is. We just can't come away with nothing when we get inside the 20. Those are absolute killers.
