49ers hire Broncos scouting director Adam Peters

The 49ers are wasting no time building a staff around new General Manager John Lynch.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, the 49ers have hired former Broncos personnel man Adam Peters as their vice president of player personnel.

Word emerged yesterday that Peters would interview with the 49ers, and that the Broncos college scouting director would not be blocked from making a move that did not include final say over the roster.

Peters is respected in the business, and it’s a good sign that Lynch is layering in people with the experience on the job that he lacks. There have been rumblings that former Buccaneers G.M. Mark Dominik could also be on the way, which should add more depth to their bench as they try to rebuild.
I dunno. Looking at the last few years, I might want to keep the Broncos' drafting machinery in place. Is there a single guy on this list who would start for the Chiefs?

Peters was their top scout but any personnel decision began and ended with John Elway.

Well, then let's keep him in Denver.

I'm actually serious with this question. Which players in those last four drafts would be a starter in Kansas City? I don't see a single one who would be a clearcut choice.

None of those players would start here.

I have never even heard of Corey Nelson. Probably a PS hero

There's no way that Paradis or Garcia would start in favor of Mitch Morse or hell, even Zach Fulton.

Roby wouldn't be a starter but he'd likely be a dime guy.

Who the **** is Corey Nelson?

Paradis really came on this year, he'd definitely start over Morse...

Garcia is an average to above average guard in the NFL, Fulton isn't.

You guys severely underrate Roby because he had his worst game as a pro against you guys. But Roby would start for nearly every team in the league.

Corey Nelson is our nickle LB. He's not great, but neither are any of the Chiefs ILB's outside of DJ.

Shane Ray and Ty Sambraillo would definitely be starters. Sylvester Williams might be a starter but he'd definitely be in heavy rotation along the defensive line.

Bradley Roby would certainly be in the mix at CB and I'd take Heuerman over O'Shags, Ross Travis and Demetrious Harris, he of crucial drop fame.

So there's 4 guys and of course, Trevor Siemien, who would likely be sitting behind Alex Smith but he's a guy with serious upside.

Shaq Barrett was undrafted but I'd take him in a heartbeat.

But if you take a look around the league, the Chiefs are most certainly one of the better drafting teams in the NFL, which is why they've had 4 straight winning seasons.

Ty Sambraillo? Did you watch the KC-DEN game?

I'd take him over Zach Fulton any day of the week.

And Mitch Schwartz was ass raped by Von Miller and Shaq Barrett all game long but I wouldn't judge him on one game.

Look at all of those high draft picks on offense who have done nothing for Denver. This board would be crucifying John Dorsey if these were his drafts
