There's always a risk of infection with any surgery, but that's usually afterwards. You can throw an embolism at any age. I had a friend pass at 27 from one during a pretty minor surgery and he was the picture of health. It could have been a reaction to the anesthesia.
I was really starting to enjoy his new series as well. It was kind of a 180 from his role in Big Love.
