Now, if Mahomes becomes as good as many including myself think he could be, it's a whole new level for the Chiefs. The offense could become something it hasn't been in nearly 15 years.
I honestly dont see our guys being quite as dynamic as Atlantas duo

But what our guys lack in explosiveness, they should be be able to make up for with with a grinding, wear you down, kill the clock style... provided Ehingers return is the cure for what ailed us last year

What Alex Smith brings this year, I have no clue... tempted to expect the same old shit because thats how he has mostly played for his entire career

But maybe, just maybe, the writing on the wall spurs him to reach outside of himself and he tries to MAKE plays for once... 'good' Smiff can approach dynamic, we'll see

The pressure will either make him wilt, or make him show off

If he decides to grab his balls, we could have a great year

He was looking to his further left side options. (the one that was double covered, and then the wheel route which was going to take a long time to develop.

The other strong possibility on Ware is the RILB is free to (and could) drift right to where as the ball arrives.. if the placement is not greatly over top of Ware. If the ball is placed over top of Ware, #25 would have easily been able to break off of his double coverage to handle that.

Learn a book, Seth.
You are severely overestimating the defenders' abilities to find the man and/or ball on time, with their backs to the receivers. It isn't as easy as just taking off and covering the guy.

If that's Mahomes, he is fitting it in there to Ware with ease. The defenders are all watching Smith, reacting to what he does. All the QB has to do is throw it in that window just to the right of Ware and it is open range. The defense will never be able to react in time.

The scramble drill is the hardest thing to cover in the league, and I would guess almost all defensive backs would concur on that.

It will never be Alex's fault. If the WR is open....then the defender could've caught up and covered it. They will never admit that Alex is a pussy who won't consistently give his receivers a chance at the ball. And don't come in here with one gif out of his hundreds of attempts.

If Smith was looking at and prepared to sling it to Ware at that perfect time, sure maybe... but it wasn't until Smith started moving to his right that he could reasonable have seen and hit Ware.. as Ware was not the first or second read. The two options on the far left were.

So by the time Smith is moving right, Ware is open.. however, at that point... Smith is throwing across his body, and praying that the DB at the hash mark and looking... can't get in there.

This is a good example of why KC drafted a guy like Mahomes.

He sure can laser the ball in better than most... and he has the guts (albeit, pro ignorance) to just let it rip. This is why I'd expect a lot of "amazing awesome throws!", but just as many "oh noez! wtf did he think he could do there, we're screwed now!" comments.

You don't have a ****ing clue where Smith's eyes were on that play.

The fact remains that Conley was wide ****ing open and even if Alex doesn't want to throw that ball (it's a bit scary and the window isn't huge) he can step up in the pocket and launch one deep to Maclin down the left sideline, who has a step on his man.

But he doesn't do that because he's a one-read pussy.

And we're moving on from that shit.

Good riddance.

Just so we are on the same page here, are you of the belief that Smith should have moved to his right rather than simply taking 1 or 2 steps up in a clean pocket?

It's definitely his fault. He had everything anyone could ask for. Great deep threats great short threats a bonafide top 3 tightend a top 5 oline and he completely shit the bed. Just hope for Chiefs fans sakes he makes it through this season and let's Mahomes work in the fundamentals.

Just what Chiefsplanet needs another Alex Smith thread. Like there isn't already 10 others you can post about him in.

You Alex Smith haters/Geno Smith lovers are obsessed. He is going to be our QB for this upcoming season. Get over it.
