I don't see how paying him his due was smart.
I also don't see how cutting him is smart. Conley was never a legit no 2 and now we have no legit no 1 or no 2...

He wasn't worth what we were going to pay him but we don't have anyone on the depth chart half as able...

How many times does it need to be stated that Chris Conley and Maclin had virtually identical stats in 2016? And how can you make this statement without having seen Demarcus Robinson or Jehu Chesson in 2017? Speaking in absolutes is foolish. |

Maclin just took a 50% pay cut. Chiefs probably would have kept him for $5.5 million. |

You expect Conley to put up healthy Maclin stats this year?

Maclin is clearly on the decline so I don't know what "healthy" stats you're referring to, especially when Kelce is the Chiefs #1 target.
But yes, I expect Conley to continue to ascend this year and put up between 650-750 yards receiving, based on his ascension the past two seasons. Adding another 200 yards to his 2016 performance should be a given, especially now that Maclin is no longer on the roster. |

Per Baltimore Sun, Chiefs thought Maclin had lost a step.

But does it tell about our younger receivers stepping it up and running circles around Maclin in practice?
I think Dorsey and Reid have expectations of our younger WR croup stepping it up and will serve better with experience in the coming years. |
