Not quite. The owner pays him to help me, and me to help the people under me. My boss does next to nothing because he's fat and lazy. Having to do his job and mine screws over the people under me as well because I don't have enough time to help them when they need it.

My boss is a female and she treats me better than all the other employees for whatever reason. Then again, I am very good at my job and don't need hand holding. She lets me do my thing and is always very complimentary. Gives me a small but none-the-less raise every year.
She's older and recently started training me to be the boss for when she takes the day off. Recently ran the show on her two week vacation and she said everything was done extremely well. Promotion in the work.....I'd definitely take it.

I haven't gotten to the hate point yet, but he's new. I hated the boss before him, but our bosses come and go pretty quick. I can't blame them, because it's a shitty stressful job and they make significantly less money than the employees that they manage.

I don't really have one. The people above me don't know enough about what I do to really tell me what to do or how to do it. As long as I get things done I pretty much get left alone.

Hate , no.
But he's an inept moron and a drunk making $120k a year. But he's "in the club" with the higher ups and owner. So he'll have that job the rest of his life. If he doesn't end up dead from booze first.

I'm my own boss for the time being and while I can be a real pain in the ass once in a while, I don't hate myself!

I work for myself but i raised Hogs for Japs for 5 years. They were a ****ing pain in the ass . all the time asking you stupid questions and trying to micromanage my shit from an office 90 miles away.. and the white guy over my contract was a ****ing asshole . Thought plenty of times about just paying him a visit with a louisville slugger. But they leased my farm for 5 years and paid off all my debt. 1.2Mil so i had to hold my tongue. They finally went out of business. The dumbasses. I'd literally get emails from two different dumbasses telling me to do something two different ways the same day. All the time.

Haven't had a bad boss since high school, fortunately... worked at Golden Corral when I was ~16 and a couple of new managers came in and thought they were real hot shots managing a bunch of $8/hr employees. No respect for employees and basically treated me like working at a shitty buffet was my ceiling. Several people quit and a couple of them recruited me to the Majestic Steakhouse.... just a small step up in terms of a high school job.
If I had to deal with that level of ego and lack of management and people skills in a job I actually care about, I'd do everything possible every single hour I wasn't working or sleeping to GTFO, especially in a career that isn't exactly an easy 40 hours a week. |

I'm pretty much self employed. My boss is a slave driving dickhole. Making me get up at 5AM and shit. **** that guy.
Sometimes I tell him to and he doesn't fire me. So I'll take it. |

Here's how I would describe my lifetime bosses, in chronological order:
Teen and college jobs: Boss 1: (My dad, good guy.) Boss 2: Nice, but cheapskate. Boss 3: Nice, but language and cultural issues made for some challenges. Boss 4: Really good boss. Boss 5: Really good boss, though it was only a summer gig so I didn't work with him long. Professional jobs: Boss 6: Terrible. Refused to talk to me because he didn't want employees. Boss 7: Terrible. Thought he was great, but ... terrible. Boss 8: Great boss. I really liked working for him. Boss 9: Pretty good boss. I had no issues with him. Pretty hands off. Boss 10: Psychopath. Worst human being to ever walk the earth.
