The Chiefs have established a patter here when it comes to those fringe roster players. If they think they can get 90% as much production at the same cost as someone they can move for a late round pick, they'll move the 'better' player to extract surplus value. They moved a couple of lineman, Kelcie McCray, Shags and I suspect we could see something like that happen with Jenkins if someone wants to give up a 5th for him and we can replace him with King (or West/Spiller, etc...). They've been very value oriented with the back of the roster. It's smart, IMO.
