Ok, curious if anyone else heard this on 610 last evening. I got in the car to leave work around 4:10 PM. The radio comes on and I swear I heard Fanning say that if we could have got a stop on that last Giants 4th down, we would have had the ball with ~2:00 minutes left. And then goes on to say (paraphrasing here), "The team that possesses the ball when OT time runs out, wins the game".

Did I hear that right? No one called him on it and I'm not sure of the context since I didn't hear any of the conversation that proceeded it. But I was dumbfounded. How could someone that is employed as a sports talk host be that clueless?

I think he was implying that the team with the ball when overtime is about to expire is obviously the team with the best chance to win. Not that if you possess the ball when time expires you win the game by default.
