We’ll get Spencer Ware and Chris Conley back from injury. We’ll have Kelce, Hill and K-Hunt all back, and all in their prime. And Mahomie will have a full compliment of weapons -more than just Albert Wilson- at his disposal. Four of our offensive line -Schwartz, Fisher, Canadian Doc and Fulton, are above average. Our schedule will be a killer since we finished first in division. We’ll probably miss the playoffs altogether next year. But if you’re gonna break the kid in, might as well throw him up against the best the league has to offer to accelerate his learning curve. You can't beat the best until you've had experience playing against the best. At least the team will be fun to watch, and not a slow lingering death spiral like watching an Alex Smith half like last night.
huh? Are you saying you don't think Mahomes was worth the trade?

Depends on who they get with that pick. And they went just as far in the playoffs this year as we did. I’m glad we got Mahomes, but the other interesting thing about that deal is, both GMs who arranged it got fired afterwards.

Not sure what this year's success has to do with it - the trade had no intention or expectation of improving KC's 2017 season. If you're not excited about Mahomes after week 17, I'm not sure what to tell you. Far from a sure thing, but I don't see how anyone could be upset at the trade at this point in time, unless you think Mahomes is a bust.

I've said in other threads, I'm a raging, screaming Mahomo.

But let's not get out over our skis. Dude had one NFL start in a meaningless end season game.

Let's see what happens when they give him the keys for good.

I think he's going to be good. But what Buffalo gets with our first pick will play to the balance of what we really gave up to get him. That's all I'm saying.

Perfectly fair, and exactly where I'm at. That's why I said "far from a sure thing". Just found the "laughing all the way to the podium" comment to be very odd. I don't think any in the KC front office are regretting the trade at this point, and if Mahomes works out, who Buffalo chooses is entirely irrelevant.

Anyway, cheers, George. Always enjoy 10 things...
