Andy Reid gaining more control. The fact people don't see similarities to the end of his run in Philly is amazing. Then again, a large part of this fan base welcomed Herm Edwards.

I'm ok with this. Not jumping jacks, but I like him. Ironcially, as frustrating as Andy is he has done a good job choosing and developing his OC's.

The issue really isn't the playbook but when and where we use it. I'm no Martyball guy but not using the RB has hurt us in the playoffs under Reid. If Bieniemy can improve that without going overboard then great.

I trust Reid's choices in OC's, I just don't trust his ability to stay out of it when he should.

Remember when the fanbase universally called for Greg Robinson's firing in 2002 and Vermeil stuck with him for ANOTHER ****ing season? The very season when we desperately needed a marginal improvement in the defense and the head coach let his loyalty get in the way of success?

Yes, we have power as fans. We had SOC. But we can't pull a SOC every time there's an issue with the team. It loses its meaning.

I think you're perceiving this as, "Fans don't care that Reid is making decisions" when in reality it's "Fans don't care because Reid and Hunt are blind, and there's nothing we can do about it at this time."

I think what really doomed reid was not finding a defense. He never found a defensive identity in Philly. I don't know why all of Jim Johnsons successors basically took his scheme and stripped out all the blitzing. I'm good with veach. I'd much rather mahomes than Kolb or Vick or Foles. I would agree with the comment above that our biggest concern right now is who we pick to replace Sutton. I hope he doesn't pick from the tree here unless he's looking at the Carolina D. In this case, we need him to really really look outside the box.

Reid was going to take back play calling no matter who he hired.

Nagy's press conference today was interesting. I have no reason to doubt him that he called all the plays in the second half, but man, they really screamed Andy Reid and Reid was looking at his call sheet an awful lot and covering his mouth. Also, the loss of Kelce seemed to really hurt Nagy and his inexperience.

You know what Mahomes ****ing cares about right now? Setting the NFL on fire. That's going to take time. Bieniemy isn't even going to call plays (at least I assume this to be the case). Why the hell would he have a beef with him?

Newsflash: Alex Smith, this dude with supposed "standards for winning" that people are talking about, never gave a shit if Andy Reid derped around with the playcalling, even if it was in the playoffs. He signed a goddamn longterm extension with us.

You can hate the hire. I'm not exactly thrilled with it either, but I'm also not cutting off my own dick to spite my face.
Mahomes will be gone because this regime will be in tatters or gone before he has a chance to develop with all this good ole boy dealing at Arrowhead. Nagy was a plus hire because he played the position, coached the position, and could scheme/playcall. Even if the Chiefs knew he was destined for a HC opportunity, you prepare and target a suitable replacement. Kafka and Bieniemy are not that. Andy taking on more responsibility is regression. So what if they hire some token position coach or two - not raising the bar by staying safe and in house is not the response after yet another embarrasing season ending performance in the face of a deteriorating roster, a shitty cap situation and bare cupboard come the draft.

The course is set for the continuation of failure. And Sutton lives another day. And Hunt idly stands by as Andy usurps all the power in the franchise by successfully arranging his pawns.

Enough already.

The cap can be fixed very quickly. All signs point to Sutton being out. Let's wait to see how this plays out before going into a panic. I'm not crazy about the bieniemy pick but andys had a really good track record with assistants and it's maybe the most coveted staff to work for for good young assistants.

Hell there is an article in the Star right now talking about how 25% of the head coaches in the league are former Reid assistants or Reid.

Thats 7 other teams have Reid coaching assistants as head coaches people. A few years ago everyone was sure Sutton and Toub would be HC in the league.
Dude I usually agree with your takes but you are blind here.

I want this team to win Superbowls, and not be a punchline.

If you are cool with Kansas City/Reid being the head coach king makers, then that is on you. I rather root for a winner. I want it to be KC, but am awakening to the fact that this regime under Reid is fantastic at getting in their own way.

Fantasy.

Andy always has control. He was the reason Alex is here, he brought Dorsey here, brought Veach, brought Nagy, brought Pederson. He was the one who wanted Sutton.

It was always Andy in control.

No, all signs are not pointing to Sutton being out.

That is a big ****ing part of the problem.

I am okay with the OC hire if Sutton is fired and they bring in a good QB Coach to continue Mahomes development.

If they bring Sutton back the whole staff should be fired.

Does anyone think for one second Bill B. would have kept Sutton on his staff after the defensive performance in the playoffs?
