Great kicker, stats would have been much better if he wasn't always having to kick bombs because of the bad teams we had...

I thought that he was already gone. Didn't they have a different kicker last season?

I thoroughly made fun of this draft pick. Number 17 overall if I remember correctly. Turns out it was one of old Al Davis' best picks.

I had to go back and look at the 2000 draft. Looking back, Janikowski was about as good as any at that point in the draft. Nobody picked after him had as good of a career as he did. Funny piece of trivia that I noticed. A kicker was drafted before the first quarertback came off the board. Janikowski was drafted at 17, followed by Chad Pennington at 18. Hard to think that a quarterback class would be bad enough that a team would choose a kicker first.

Actually, his stats would probably be worse if they were a better team. Knowing most of the time the offense was never moving the ball, they let him kick from nearly everywhere. If your kicker leads the team in points........youre sucking big time.
