@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

Difference: Chiefs and Rams should both be in compete mode. Peters is a huge shot in the arm for a contender. Not so much for a starting from scratch team like the Browns.

Or, just a guess here, they may want to stop the run and have guys that WILL ACTUALLY ATTEMPT TO TACKLE.

I know they have had some bad tacklers over the years, but he is the first one I have seen openly, flauntingly refuse to tackle.

Then we saw Revis do it in the playoff game as well. Well damn, if Peters don't have to tackle, why should I?/Revis,

Oh crap, I am an old white guy and it is only because he disrespected the flag that I hate him, I forgot.

But why did the defense shutdown Oakland without Peters?

Why did the offense only manage one touchdown in the game Kelce went down?

If we had to trade one or the other I'd rather trade Peters, no question
Why did we go a whole season with no WR catching a TD?

As the ol saying goes, "For some kids you can take the kid out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the kid".

This is the case with MP plain and simple. Anyone who say's the FO/Reid are responsible for not getting MP to "get in line" and was managed poorly are just very naive about this whole situation. I assure you they knew this kid was a "train wreck" from the beginning and tried to get him help quietly behind the scenes from the get go. BUT if the kid won't get help and "doesn't want to leave the hood" there is only so much you can do. THIS IS ALL ON PETERS !!

Some of you have made very good points. Very telling that several GMs who know and have worked with Peters, now do not want anything to do with this guy especially when they have CB needs. Especially a former GM who went to bat for him in the beginning who now has a big need at CB who has plenty of picks to deal is now not interested.

If MP had EB character this trade doesn't happen BUT that is not the case. MP showing his cards he does not want to re-sign and then demanding a trade after the Titans loss, on top of his meltdowns on and off the field and especially with his mother. Fellas, "train wrecks" like MP rarely change and get better. And now he is going to LA !!! He is Terrell Owens X10 in LA that will soon get a lot of $$ while his stellar play disappears screwing the Rams cap down the road. Good luck with that !!! Now as a GM knowing the hand you have been dealt you have to make a decision that is best for the franchise.

Why in the world would we hang on to this 'man-child' until next year from a value perspective when it clear his value is the highest "right now" and not next year !! We only screw ourselves value wise by holding on to this guy for another year.

Reid/Veach are preparing for the future and Mahomes changes everything. Fellas, we will be scoring a ton more points which will be the offset for now until our defense gets back to full strength. Yes, it sucks that MP didn't have EB character but it will be fun watching this offense for sure. Several will be getting paid in the near future with Mahomes the furthest out which provides the opportunity to actually keep most if not all of our immediate productive stars while paying Mahomes as well. This is great news !! How many teams are in a position to do this ? Not very many.

Something tells me we will all look back on this trade and see that it was a "genius move"(blessing in disguise) that will rid the locker room of any kind of potential cancer that potentially could hamper a young talented QB, rebuilding the defense with many more picks that were desperately needed and our CAP will be in great shape.

I say

BTW, I am not a MP hater BUT I do demand "high integrity" when "high adversity" hits whether on or off the field.
Quack.

A little baffled here, the part about improving upon 2017 by keeping Sutton and axing Peters. But that's where we are.

Wish I could say I was shocked but, we've always known that the Chiefs were owned by a family of milquetoast bundle of stickss.
At least the walking cholesterol freighters that comprise 90% of the fan base can rest easy tonight after thanking Jesus and glory-holing each other through the Jimmy Swaggart fathead.
