They weren’t going to cut him at that point. They made a decision to move on from him via trade his offseason at that point.

If the Rams weren’t trading for him, he would have been released this offseason.

Again, the belief is that he is a cancer. At any cost, he wasn’t returning to this team.

2016 Peters was probably the best CB in the NFL. He took a step back last year because his head wasn't in the game. He knelt, got flack from it and rebelled. That's his character. It's why he got kicked off his college team. Chiefs took a chance and for 2 years, he was a star. Last year he wasn't.

If his attitude wasn't a problem he's the best CB in the NFL. Because it negatively affected his play last year and his team then it's dropping him down significantly in the rankings. It's pretty telling that there was, reportedly, only one team willing to trade for a 25 yo elite CB that's numbers rival HoFers ED Reed and Deon Sanders.

I was looking at the rankings for the past 3 years and none of those 3 years was he the top rated Cornerback.......now, he was among the Top 3 one year and Top 5 the other 2, but I never saw one where he was considered the best.
