@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

Can’t believe so many aren’t understanding the situation here. If there was any scenario where the Chiefs felt comfortable at all keeping Peters around, he’d still be here. He’s that good.

But he’s not a Chief anymore. Veach and Reid aren’t morons and they’ve got a far greater pulse on this than anyone of us. You’re not trading the 25-year-old star CB unless you feel like you absolutely need to.

People have gotta stop looking at this as if the Chiefs are just getting rid of the player here. There is a lot more to this that likely made this decision an absolute must.

Yeah we know Big changes are coming. We’ve found out that Dee Ford and Steven Nelson aren’t in Veach’s plans, so that’s already 4 players from the defense not counting Tamba.

Veach is going to completely remodel this defense in the next 2 months. I would not be shocked to see 5 new starters on defense next year.

Totally agree! Turnovers... while a huge part of the game... are not the only way to get the ball back for the offense. I'm a big fan of 3 and outs too!

Here is the Raiders game in which Peters did not play:

I think we could have got a single decent year behavior wise, if we had a coach with any balls that would have kept a foot in his ass. He has a major payday riding on the next year or two, so he also has incentive.

Ideally we kept him and kept him in line, but I didn't completelyhate that we dealt him. I just hate that we sold low.

But at the same time after the emotional dust has settled and realistically looking back on this event and how everything unfolded "as we learn more details" when they come out and they will, we will be fortunate we got anything at all in this deal considering the circumstances involved IMHO.

If you look at the circumstances surrounding the trade logically you see the Chiefs were sellers of a "must sell" cold commodity with limited suitors. The seller always gets less in that type of deal and the buyer is able to get the commodity at a discounted rate. Its just how it works.

Its going appear like the Chiefs got fleeced, and I have no doubt they did but they were desperate sellers and will sell it as a win win with addition by subtraction. And theres always the chance they hit home runs on the picks they do receive so who knows how it will all look in a couple years, but for now they dumped a talent that was a problem for them and any compensation is a bonus.

Or you can look at it from the angle of why did the Chiefs even draft him in the first place if they weren't prepared to deal with his well known character issues.

I'm slowly coming to grips with this. He better be a model citizen and teammate in LA. Or he can forget EVER getting a big pay day in this league. I mean, how does 30 teams say "No thanks" to a top 3 CB in the league? He's clearly viewed as a cancer almost on Kaepernick levels. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that locker room last year, and see just how bad it clearly had to be.

Such a shame. I was his biggest fan. He was fun to watch. I'm going to miss him, but clearly the organization and his teammates are not. The fact there hasn't been a whole lot of love for him from his teammates on social media is pretty damned telling.

Don't most teams think they can deal with character concerns? The Rams right now are saying, it'll be different with us.
