Marcus Peters traded to Rams

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

****ing up on Peters doesn't mean they have no idea how to handle troubled players, but you could say they bungled this particular situation.
Marcus Peters will get out of hand anywhere. It may not be this season with the Rams but it’ll happen. He cares about himself. He would’ve gotten out of hand in New England too. Andy is as good as anyone about getting through to players.

Does that excuse Peters from responsibility? No, not at all. But the Chiefs were the party to initiate the relationship and were in charge, and they bungled it. Shit happens

The Chiefs will be left picking up the pieces while Peters will likely get exactly what he wants.
How exactly did the Chiefs bungle their relationship with Marcus Peters?

That's the case here: Peters clearly became too much to manage. The Chiefs franchise can't play babysitter to one player when there's 52 others on the Active Roster and another 10 players on the Practice Squad.
The fact they're trading him off would indicate it was bungled. They took him feeling they could control him.

How to distribute the blame is debatable and hell neither of us know exactly how to.

KC has done everything they can for Marcus. He’s gota help himself. This is all on Peters not the Chiefs. Peters has to grow the **** up

The Rams apparently believe that if anyone can keep Peters in line, it's Wade Phillips.

We'll know in a few years whether that's true or not.

I have a feeling that since Oakland's about a 45 minute flight from LAX and Burbank, Peters will feel more comfortable playing close to home.

Plus, there won't be anyone calling him out for kneeling and he'll get a pass, for at least a while, if he plays well but still yields a few Unsportsmanlike Penalties.

Funny, that worked with Tyreek Hill but not Peters.

It worked with Chris Jones (when healthy) but not Peters.

It worked with Travis Kelce, who was suspended for a year in college, causing him to drop to the 3rd round, but not with Peters.

I wonder why?

Andy Reid rehabilitated a damn dog killer.

If he couldn't get through to Marcus Peters, he's truly a reprehensible individual.

It’ll be fine for a couple of years...

After that, then we’ll see. Wade can’t coach forever either.

I dont understand how this is difficult to understand, Reid isn't going to just give up on a talented player. He was DONE.

He's lucky he didn't get his ass kicked when he called his momma **** and pushed her.

That's what I'm thinking as well.

We'll probably see Marcus Peters on his best behavior in 2018 and 2019.

Once he gets paid, what happens then? And by that time, Wade will be 73 years old.

Agee. What’s the common denominator here guys? Hint: it’s not the ****ing Chiefs. I’d argue Andy is the best coach at getting through to players. If sandy can’t, good luck with Wade and McVay.

I would feel comfortable in saying that going to prison did that.

It's just not likely that KC is going to win every single troubled player they gamble on and really, shit happens. They took the same on the fly approach with Travis Kelce when he'd get stupid on the field and it almost cost them games.

Andy was too soft on the bullshit and fortunately Kelce isn't a headcase off the field, also and finally started to clamp the **** down on it.

Confrontation with his mom? I could google it, but do you have any clues on where to find something on it? I hadn't heard about that.
