Marcus Peters traded to Rams

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

"Chiefs trade star Marcus Peters as smart AFC West rivals steepen the climb for Denver Broncos. Klee believes the trade helps the Chiefs.

He wrote: "The Chiefs became a more severe long-term threat Friday when they traded star cornerback Marcus Peters to the Rams. On the surface it looks like a blow to Kansas City: Peters is 25 and shows 21 interceptions in three seasons. The Chiefs will be better off in the long run without Marcus Peters. If Peters is that much of an asset, why did K.C.'s defense rank 30th (out of 32) in DVOA and why would a franchise move on from a 20-something All-Pro at a premium position?

"Easy. Peters isn't worth the trouble. As I wrote in August in a column on John Elway and the anthem protests, 'it's a business,' as players like to say.

"When guys hurt the bottom line — and you should've heard some of the fan vitriol aimed at Peters when the Broncos played at Kansas City — teams make a business decision to rid themselves of bad optics, whether you agree with their politics or not. Peters in conservative K.C. was bad for business."
Cool it's Peters fault that Sutton sucks balls and the other guys didn't do their jobs.

So end of the day, don't kneel for the anthem or express certain opinions or you will not be welcome to play in KC.

Great, that'll help us in FA I'm sure.

Oh I agree, they had to make a decision now whether to keep him and pay for his 5th year option or move him. I admit I don't know the salary cap implications of the 5th year option and what year it hits the cap.

Getting rid of Sutton after 1 bad year bc he couldn’t make a defense full of headaches and scrubs a top unit is not logical.

You wanna get mad? Get mad at Dorsey for drafting shitty players like Dee Ford and Phillip Gaines while also drafting a raging lunatic in Marcus Peters.

The defense was not talented last year. Not even close. No DC could get that pile of shit to be good and yet they were still above average in points allowed and gave the Chiefs every possible chance to win the playoff game.
You are defending Bob Sutton, nothing else needs to be said here.

I dont see any ****ing way we trade Peters for a high round draft picks in 2019. We do nothing we get a 3rd rounder in 2018. We have to get something with a better value than a 3rd this year. Or why even make the trade?
We couldn't get a 3 this year if he walked. He was under contract

I've defended Sutton plenty. His scheme last year was just bad. Hilariously predictable. You can't blame that on talent. If he was trying different things and none of it worked, you can blame it on personnel. He ran the same thing over and over again. Running dime against Pittsburgh was a joke. We had bottom 5 blitz percentage. Theres no excuse for that. What's the worst that can happen by trying something different, when what you're currently doing is horribly bad.

Sometimes the bare land is worth more. Apparently MP's cost to the team was sufficient to know that they sure didn't want to invest 9 mil more this spring or pony 15-20 mil per year on a long term deal. I give the Chiefs front office the benefit of the doubt since they know a bit more about the whole situation than I do.

Well we have a 20 year in head coach that hasn't won jack and a organization that hasn't won jack in what almost 50 years, so that benefit if the doubt really isn't very large.

When the customers in the market treat you like shit and the company doesn't have your back and your manager is incompetent, employees get disengaged and frustrated and won't want to work for that company anymore. It works both ways.

This is where Chiefs fans look stupid when criticizing the guy. He did try different things. Several different schemes.

How could anyone watch this team and not see that?

This thread, it's the Tyson Jackson draft day thread all over again.

It starts with shock then is followed by a lot of anger then it's followed by acceptance and those posters beating down the ones that don't accept the shitty move.

Pull up that thread and read it, same shit. Matt Cassel thread pretty much is the same I'm sure also. But at the end it was proven, they were awful moves.
