Grade the Marcus Peters situation

Might as well document our overall reaction.

I think there's a huge difference between being aloof or quiet or even a bit angry as opposed to constant meltdowns and distractions.

Peters has been a distraction since college, which is why he's been essentially booted from both teams that initially thought he'd be easier to manage.

Clearly, he brought this upon himself.

And thanks for the response as to why many, many other teams that could have used his services, that could possibly put the team over the top and in the Super Bowl, passed.

Butt****.
You continue with the name calling for no apparent reason. I certainly didn't suggest that was "perfectly acceptable behavior", so I'm not sure why you'd make such a statement; literally no reason for you to lie here.

Perhaps other teams WOULD come calling when their other options didn't turn out the way they hoped they would.

Yeah, I don't buy this. I think this is going to addition by subtraction.

How so? To be traded for a 4th round pick?

No contract extension?

No long term stability?

No "Generational" money?

I'd say Peters ****ed himself. And the sad thing is, he probably hasn't learned a damn thing.

Brought this upon himself? What do you mean? You think Peters is upset at this outcome? Dude just made the Chiefs look like fools, and put himself in a pretty nice situation. Peters got exactly what he wanted. He won. Chiefs lost.

What Peters did here will have no bearing on what he could potentially earn in LA.

Pattern of behavior.

Booted off his college team, booted off his professional team.

Why would anyone believe that his third team would be any different?

Would I have liked to get more compensation? Sure. Of course. Its really a punch in the gut to go from thinking we are going to have Peters, Fuller, and Berry in the backfield to Fuller, Berry and bunch of question marks.

Still I'll say this. For years we have bitched and moaned about being a team that is too set in its ways. Playing things way too conservatiely. Now we have GM in Veach who is very agressive. Making moves early and often. Some huge victories (Smith) others dampen your spirits (Peters). Still I think if we really want to see this team in the Super Bowl you have to get young and stay focused. I think Peters was a focus issue. Think about it, you are trying to build a super bowl contenders in year 2 or 3 of the Mahomes era. But yeah that pro-bowl ball hawking 25 year old CB should be part of path there but you can't trust him. Can't trust him to keep his head on straight, can't trust him to even be an option for the team when you are ready to compete.

In short I get it, I just don't like it.
Wow a reasonable level headed take- rare sight.

They feel otherwise because they traded for him and if he assembles into their lockerroom and plays like he should, he's about to be the richest CB in the NFL.
