Homer.
Peters doesn't suck unless he plays like he did for about 10 weeks of last season in which he did in fact suck.

With that defensive line getting pressure he could get 15 picks.

He's not a shutdown corner, but he's still very good when he WANTS to play

Only one corner in the league has a lower passer rating than Peters does. What exactly is your definition of a shutdown corner?

He is a shutdown corner, despite playing for a DC who is only used to adjusting his retirement home recliner.

I said this in another thread but I want nothing more than Peters to fail. I had debated going to the game in Mexico but this interview clinches it. I care slightly less if the Chiefs win and slightly more if Hill burns Peters for a TD. Sad but true.

Still not even top 3 in the league - barely 5.

I’ve seen this and have had to deal with this a couple times first hand.

Uber talented kid who can help a team with dominant play on the field, to the degree of notoriety and a following of many who will kiss their asses. Weak minded coaches, teammates, and fans of such players will refrain from truly disciplining or remedying an unchecked ego for fear of upsetting “the star”, whom you literally depend on somewhat for team success.

The buck always stops somewhere, and leopards don’t change their spots.

That body language Peters displayed in that interview? I’ve seen it before and know it well.
He is lying to himself and his ego does not know humility.

To Marcus’ credit, that is arguably the most composed I’ve maybe seen him in an interview. He kept it respectful, aside from the Mahomes dig, but no one should be that thin skinned about a little trash talk/throw down. It is obvious though that he was twisting the truth/facts about what played out after the Jets game.

Screaming at coaches, reported physical altercations with teammates, and a report he physically attacked his own mother. This shit usually doesn’t manifest on its’ own, and where there is smoke....

Over time, an unchecked ego gets tiring in a locker Room. Team morale suffers, coaches worry more about managing the player than the game, and toxicity ensues.

People here citing he is just “passionate” are blind. We have seen his outbursts in public, I can imagine what has been said and done in the locker room. I sensed regret in Peters talking about his teammates and Reid. He knows they likely gave him every chance to buy into the team concept, but he can’t get over himself. And now, one day he wakes up and realizes he has run out of chances. His politically correct response of “it’s a business” is an easy way out for both the Chiefs and Marcus Peters. We all know there is a much darker truth behind this turn of events.

KC lost a great talent, but maybe regained some organizational purpose and drive.

Not going to quote due to length, but that was a great post Chief Northman. Well thought out and not a knee jerk reaction.

All most people want to see is the stats and the highlights, while ignoring what they can’t see. They’ll try to spin the facts and say this trade was made for whatever reason is convenient for them.

The truth is in the details. A 25 year old star CB was available for trade, huge red flag. Said CB had one true suitor in the Rams, huge red flag.

I challenge people to think deeper and connect some dots here.. Marcus Peters is an amazing player. But he’ll continue to flame out with teams after brief stints, much like other great players before them who were ‘cancers’.

Homer.

I don’t think he sucks but you gotta admit that Hill will run right by him as proven in St Joe & there’s no way that he tries to tackle Hunt. That strip fumble thing he does won’t work on Hunt.
