Anybody tear a ligament before?

Without ever knowing you did?

Apparently, I thought I recently had gout in my knee. The swelling would not go down, I knew something wasn’t right. Recently had an MRI to find out I have a partially torn ligament.

How else has this happened to?

Good luck! Surgery is fast, but rehab sucks, especially the first 48 hours.

Tore ACL in 2014 playing soccer in a charity event. Didn’t know I did it, thought I strained it, wore a brace and played KC Corporate challenge volleyball on it. Finally went to a doc how told me it had been torn for about 3 months.

Had surgery and 9 months later I did my first indoor triathlon - you will be fine as long as you take the rehab seriously.

Again, good luck

Yep! Was playin' a friendly game of football with my highschool classmates when I intercepted a pass and landed on my right knee with all my weight.

I had to be carried to the truck, but gettin' hit in the knee hurts like hell anyways, ya know? So I thought nothing of it until I started collapsing at work the next year.

Fast forward 2 more years and a new specialist, Dr. Mendel, quickly discovered what I'd done. I had severely torn the patella tendon my right knee, and shattered some of the bone too boot.

Blew out my ACL about two years ago, had surgery in November 2016. Knee is finally starting to feel somewhat normal but I’m sure it will never be the same. Finally back running just this past January- did they take a piece of your hamstring as well for your new ACL?

They usually ask you if you want hamstring or patella graft. You don't take the hamstring graft if your thinking about playing sports or lifting on it.

Interesting because I’ll be lifting and returning to sport and I was given the hamstring graft.

Yep. I’m with you fellas. Partially torn meniscus about 6 weeks ago playing flag football. No surgery. Wore a knee brace and a heavy knee sleeve during any physical activity since. Feels mostly ok now.

all of this proves we were not meant to live past age 40. Thank your caveman relatives for that.

We are making the human body do things it was not meant to do.
