I have had a Weber Smokey Joe for over 15 years or so, it has been everything from my main grill to a tailgate grill. Had to replace the grates just once. Just moved to a house again from condo hell, and now have an Oklahoma Joe Highlander. Works well so far, need to work on some mods for it to make it keep the heat and smoke. My Uncle also recommended trying an Expert Grill Charcoal Water Smoker for only $40, he has made some great smoked Turkey and Chicken with it, hard to believe it came from a $40 smoker.

Had this one for several years until the bottom (ash catcher tray) rusted out. Too bad because I really liked that grill.
I got this one to replace it. It's an okay replacement. Both grills have been great for smoking meat using the snake method. I also have a Smokey Joe for tailgating and camping.

I have a Weber Genesis Gold natural gas grill. Had it since 1998 and it still works like new. I've replaced a couple parts over the years, but the main components are still rock solid. I also have a a Weber Smokey Mountain. I think it's about 12 years old. Those two cover every kind of grilling/smoking I've ever needed or done.

If you need a portable or just a budget smoker, I recommend this from WallyWorld. My Uncle swears by it and I have had Turkey, Chicken and Ham he has smoked from it and it was damn good, he brings it to smoke for holidays and says he uses it normally as well. Does not look big enough for Brisket unless you chop it up some or just get a flat. Its a good deal at normal price but now on sale for $25, looks like a steal to me.

I love grilling but live in a townhouse so can't do smoking like I'd like to. Only use gas grills because it's not a nuisance to the neighbors. My buddy has a plug in cabinet smoker that seems good for this purpose. Anyone have experience with these and any one in particular a good value? Is it worth it?

There are several people here who love their electric smokers. My experience is limited to the puck smokers, and it was OK, but ultimately I gave it away.

We used a Southern Pride 1000 at the BBQ joint.
Then my buddy lost it in his divorce

I have an old obsolete Built in Gas Grill. I can't find parts for it anymore. It was a 4 burner now I am down to 3. We grill at least 4 times a week on it. I need to start shopping for a new one.
I also have an old offset barrel smoker that I use for smoking. At work they built be this great big offset smoker using 24" Schedule 80 Pipe with a cooking chamber that is over 5 feet long. It takes a forklift to move it. |

I have a humble Broil King S440. Some assembly required (my actual photo of parts before assembly. Took about three hours, sober)

I have a Big Green Egg, A Weber Summit Charcoal, a few Weber Kettles, A Weber Smokey Mountain 22inch. I did have a BGE XL I sold.
I went through a few gas grills years ago and most I had were cheap junk. I have friends with Weber Genesis they love. I love the Weber Summit Charcoal, far better unit than the BGE...I still have a Large BGE and its a decent but over rated and way overpriced outfit that is fragile as sin. Grills and smokers are a lot like Bourbon. The better ones cost more and are worth the wait. Dont piss your cash away on junk.
