If KC is by some turn of events like this down late, and it requires the D to get a stop against a playoff caliber offense, I don't see that happening.

Yep. No one talks about this, but Rivers is old as balls and they've done absolutely nothing to replace him. They'll be an annoyance for another year tops then they'll be back to hunting for a franchise QB again.
