Honestly...play ****ing Lucas instead of Ron ****ing Parker for one.

Sutton refuses to simplify his scheme and play the younger players. So they have no chance to develop. He refuses to adapt his defense to talent and is failing to adjust to today's NFL.

That is enough grounds to kick his ass to the curb.

And yet Andy Reid keeps him around. What does that tell you?

And DOD was on the field tonight a lot so your young argument doesn’t hold much water

DOD was on the field with Hitchens on the first series, with Ragland on the sideline. That's a BIG change that nobody even wants to acknowledge.

And I think the play up front was better tonight. It was good enough that the Rams actually went away from Gurley and he was not a factor tonight.

That does not make up for that final drive though.

Okay, he played one young player some of the time.

Had the lead with less than two minutes to go, and for the second time this year, Sutton calls a play that left a TE/WR wide ****ing open.

Defense had some good moments tonight, but at the end of the day they could not do it when it counted. Not even close. Sometimes the other team makes great plays...but the Rams did not need anything great on the last drive...they just walked right down the field.

Did you watch the replay on the Everett TD? Did you listen to the ESPN commentary?

Ron Parker bit up and left Everett one on one down the sideline. Ron Parker has done that more than once this season. He's not a good safety anymore. But there's nobody behind him to push him off the field.

Which I would prefer to have Lucas over Parker, regardless.

Then we can say that Lucas is young and inexperienced, yada, yada, yada, etc.

Parker, on the other hand... he's been in the NFL for quite some time, and he's still making errors like this.

Edit: There is a reason why he got cut by Atlanta, a safety starved team.

He's not good. You can't tell me Lucas is any worse and he was nowhere to be seen tonight.

Sutton just keeps doing the same thing over and over again. That final drive tonight looked almost exactly like the final drive at NE.

Sutton is just not good. The talent in the secondary is awful.

I say change both at the end of the year. I keep Fuller (he did not suck in Washington), replace the rest of talent in the secondary (including Berry if he does not get back on the field this year) and get a new DC.

The window is open now, but is going to start closing rapidly as Mahomes rookie deal passes and we have to re-sign our existing talent.

Drastic changes need to be done next year on the defensive side of the ball.

Yup next season the Chiefs will have the cap room to fix the D but unfortunately Dorsey left us with cap hell

Except he's not. He's changed a massive amount of things in the past 6 weeks and adds new things every game.

I get it that you love Sutton.

I think it is time for a change after this season.

New DC, some fresh talent, and I think things on D can turnaround fairly quickly.

Veach needs to draft well too...instead of drafting players out of position, he needs to draft players that can be coached up and can contribute right away---no reaching until the later rounds.

I do not think this team can win a Super Bowl as long as Bob Sutton is the DC. I would love to be proven wrong on this but I am skeptical at this point.

That's the point of most of the discussion in this thread, really.

The defense looked serviceable the past several weeks but against all the likely playoff teams we've played this year, they have been clowned. Probably not going to make a deep playoff run when you have to ask so much of your offense every week.
