Top free agents shunned KC in the past: now not so much.

In the past 35 years with all the hot garbage we had here as QBs, we would be at the bottom of the barrel for any top quality free agents when they considered a trade or to sign with a new team. Only Joe Montana brought interest until now.

A by-product of finally having our own QBOTF and a great one at that, players and their agents see Kansas City as a great landing spot to finally get to the promised land!

Another positive from the Mahomes effect!

Players will play for less if they have a qb who makes them better, and if they have a qb whose fun to play with. Alex's Smith team looked business like. This team flat out looks like they're having a blast. And mahomes has made his receivers, ol, tight ends look great.

Do you realize how much money tyreek hill has made the last 11 weeks? Sammy Watkins is on a 3 year contract and has started to build the case for another handsome extension. There's no ****ing doubt players are eager to join the Chiefs right now.

Money ultimately talks but when the money's the same or similar, usually "chance of winning, playing/succeeding etc" is usually the deciding factor. Maybe location too. Don't see too many people dying to play in cold weather. At least I wouldn't if I had the choice, unless if the $ is right

And D players could sign if Mahomes leads KC to deep playoff run, knowing their path to a SB is more possible here than somewhere else.

Its usually almost always about money though.
If the weather was a deciding factor then free agents would only sign to the Rams, Raiders, 49ers, Chargers, Cowboys, Texans, Cardinals, Saints, Falcons, Jaguars, Dolphins, Bucs, and Panthers. I don't see too many of those teams being high-profile, free agent meccas in recent history.

Some might, but a lot of them will play for the team that's willing to show them the best payday.

Yeah, not every player. But we've seen lots of good players go to New England for a huge discount just to play with Brady. Peyton got a lot of those guys in Denver too. Where we might clean up most is talented guys who underperformed on their last contract. They might be willing to sign 2-3 year contracts. Remember our frustration on why guys like Welker, Talib, ward, and Demarcus ware were going to Denver for the price of peanuts?

Well, I don't recall the contracts... but don't recall them signing for vet minimums.

edit - just looked Ware signed for 3 and $30m, Talib for 6 and $57M. Not sure those were peanuts.

Atkins signed a new deal and zero chance Kyle Williams leaves Buffalo.

I wish we would convert back to a 4-3 scheme. I think Hitchen would be better in it. Andy Reid is never firing his his kid so i don't know what that means about our scheme. It seems like our defensive line has gotten worse since Britt took it over.

Chris Jones and Allen Bailey have progressed nicely this year and Nnadi has played well for a third round rookie. I’m not sure what you’re watching.

That was cheap for ware. Dallas gave a similar deal. You're right on talib... I was thinking of when he signed with new England for $5m. Welker, tj ward took below market deals. Best example I forgot about is Emmanuelle sanders. He backed out of a virtually signed contract and claimed "(the broncos) actually throw the ball." wish I could remember all the examples but the patriots are notorious for getting players to sign below market deals just to play with belichick and Brady.

Yeah. I think our line has shown growth from the first few weeks of the season. Our front seven is better than I expected it to be (still plenty of room to improve, though).
