We will be fine. We looked like a different defense with Berry out there in the first quarter and a half with Allen still in the game for the Chargers. There were plenty of plays that Hill would have taken much farther if he was healthy. Not having Hill at 100% effected the whole offense tonight, they didn't need to respect his speed. Wierd, that I'm not that upset. We still control our own destiny and have 10 days rest to get healthy before we go to Seattle. That will now be a big game and give us the opportunity to prove ourselves.

They had a 14 point lead, at home, playing a limping Chargers team who had to fly across two time zones in weather 30 degrees less than they prefer with 5 minutes to go and couldn't protect it. I'm not on the "fine" side of the ledger.

I thought that was the narrative already for 14 weeks?

Everyone knows we have to prove it in January, regardless if we went 16-0 fans and rivals would say we would go one and done. This loss changes nothing in that area

I feel somewhat vindicated - I feel sort of relieved. I actually was listening to my friend about how I was wrong about our D. Numbers lie he said - well they don’t. Truth sucks and it smacked us in the face tonight. Our D is going to hold us back this year and until we fire Sutton and get an actual person who didn’t die years ago in here and revamp this D we are bound to repeat our failures from years past - oh I don’t know let’s say the Colts playoff game, the Steelers playoff game where we gave up 6 scoring drives and oh yeah last year where we had an 18 point lead at half.

Let's be honest - the only reason the Chargers didn't run away with that game is that Rivers made some terrible decisions.

Can't stop the run, and unless Chris Jones gets to the QB, they can't stop the pass either.

I've said that this defense will keep the team from winning a Lombardi this year, but they aren't even going to win a playoff game unless they do some serious soul searching on defense ASAP.

The blueprint to beat Mahomes isn’t new. It’s the exact one you use to beat Brady, Rodgers, Brees etc. You have to do that to beat the best. This was Patrick’s 3rd loss as a starter. It was against a team we’d beaten 9 times in a row who was due for a win. It was against the second best team in our division, and it didn’t knock us out of first place. There’s still 2 games to be played win out and it’s HFA. There’s no team in the league that looks unstoppable every week. Take the L and move on to 10 days rest to get healthy and prepare for Seattle. At last check Andy has a pretty good record when there’s extra days to prepare. Sucks to lose but no reason to act like the season is over. SD has a good defense, and it’s very hard to beat a team 3 times in a season. Now we won’t have to if we meet in the playoffs. We still have the best qb in the league.

And yes I know their in LA now, but they’ll always be San Diego to me!
