The Chiefs have re-signed RB Damien Williams to a two-year extension, a source tells Yahoo Sports. KC has liked what it's seen from Kareem Hunt's replacement.

I guess it's OK. Kareem pretty much ****ed us. We just paid $4m for talent we could probably easily find with someone else's roster cuts or a late draft pick. Keeping hunt one more year for dirt cheap would have bought us time to do that. It's not a bad deal. But it's not a deal we'd have to make without the kareem incident.

I’m hoping that even with this extension we continue to use a ‘committee’ in the future. If that ends up being the Williams Bros, awesome.

Cautiously optimistic. He's performed well here thus far. Problem is he's a career sub-4.0ypc back and that's the most concerning thing to me. I wanted the Chiefs to retain him but I'm hoping about half of that 8.1 is performance based.

Well we didn’t have any other RB under contract for next year, did we? Not a bad guy to have in the mix. I like his burst in the open field. We need to draft someone to get the tough yards and keep drives going when the passing game isn’t working.
